Sir William Hotel

Firstly, DO NOT BOTHER TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ISSUES AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT, MANAGEMENT DO NOT CARE, THEY WONT ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS! We stayed here for 2 nights, our room was the notorious Room 2, referred to several times in reviews from others, the shower was as others have said very small and difficult to get in and out of, and yes you really do have to reverse onto the toilet, it's very tight! the shower didn't drain away so water flooded out onto the floor and clearly this had been happening for some time as the floor was mouldy and the lino had lifted. Water was also pouring out of the back of the unit which dripped all night onto the plastic tray and kept us awake but worse than that was the banging pipes every couple of hours throughout the night it actually sounded like someone was banging a hammer on the pipes in our room, we reported both issues and were told it would be passed on..it wasn't!! The second night the banging was even worse so bad we called the on call manager at 3am Richard E, he apologized and said he'd get a plumber. We have tried to contact management regarding the issues we had but no one will answer our questions! We also requested a refund and we have been completely ignored! If management are reading this please take the time to contact us! So 2 nights, no sleep, Not recommended, in desperate need of TLC , stay at home and save your money!!

This once nice hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. Our room had damp stains all down one wall. The window frame was rotten and falling apart. The pictures on our room wall were so sun bleached that you could hardly make out the image. The food was disgusting. Roasted Brie was frozen in the middle and one of our party ordered a fish finger sandwich for lunch and was served fish goujons that were green under the batter. For breakfast the bacon was raw and everything was swimming in greece

Good points :- Our 2 night stay was ok for the price paid , Attentive Staff with a good English Breakfast, Our premier room was clean and had everything we needed . Views nice in the Premier room too. Fairly basic but no complaints at all. Good parking. In need of anything you only have to ask . Bad points :- Toilet flush in room very poor . Orange juice at Breakfast tasted like weak orange squash . No fresh fruit or yogurts offered in the morning, only dried fruit for cereal . We don't like Indonesian Food so for us the other options on the menu were far too limited . We would have liked to see plain chicken and chips or Lasagne on the menu. The Prices for the plain food eg Burger and some of the drinks , especially the house Red Wine at £22 were expensive we felt, for this basic establishment . It was a shame as we had to dine out of an evening to get a much better menu choice and much better value for money .
