Pleasant stay with a point of concern Our recent experience at Hotel Les Jardins de Sainte-Maxime was generally very pleasant, but there was one incident that caused us some concern as a family. On the positive side, our room was clean and comfortable, with excellent housekeeping service. The staff was generally friendly and helpful, and the pool was a big hit with our family. We all enjoyed it, including our children. It’s advisable to arrive early at the pool as the loungers get taken quickly. The hotel’s location is also very convenient, within walking distance of the beach and the center of Sainte-Maxime. We highly recommend taking the boat to Saint-Tropez, which is a nice experience. Unfortunately, the wifi connection was unstable, which occasionally frustrated our children, but this wasn’t a major issue for us. We had a less pleasant experience with the hotel’s elevator. While we were all inside (including our two young boys aged 9 and 12), we got stuck between the first and second floors. Our younger son became quite panicked, and the situation quickly became uncomfortable because it was a glass elevator and the temperature started to rise (the windows even fogged up). We ended up being stuck for half an hour before being freed by forcing the doors open. What disappointed us somewhat was that there was no follow-up from the hotel after this incident. No one checked on our children’s well-being, despite the fact that it was a very distressing experience for them. Since then, our boys are afraid to enter an elevator. Although this did not have a major impact on the rest of our stay, we had hoped for more care and attention from the hotel. Overall, we had a nice time at the hotel, but we hope the hotel will pay more attention to the experiences of their younger guests in such situations in the future.
