Quality Inn & Suites Near Lake Oconee

My husband and I were planning a two night stay while traveling through Georgia. We arrived and opened the door to our room and we were overwhelmed by a sickening sweet smell and the floors were all wet and sticky. We had to open the windows, which only opened a quarter of the way and keep the door open but we never did get rid of the smell. That was the best part of the stay. It says there is wi-fi but does not connect in the rooms. Only in the lobby. Management insisted it worked so we asked the man to come to the room and we tried connecting, which it didn’t and he said he couldn’t help. He gave us the customer service number and said to call. All night long people coming and going, tooting their horns, a dog was barking. You could hear people hooting and hollering, car stereos blasting. It would quiet down for a short while but then would start up all over again. This went on all night long. We were pretty much awake all night. It was a disaster and have never had that experience in a hotel/motel our entire life. The next morning went to management and complained and asked to cancel the second night. The office would not cancel as there was a two day prior cancellation policy. In view of the circumstances we thought they might do us a courtesy. Absolutely would not and blamed the problems on kids at the fast food Waffle House below by the road. Sorry to say that was a blatant lie. Anyone could tell what was going on six feet from your door. We don’t generally write reviews but felt this one had to be written to give other travelers a heads up. We’re planning on avoiding this chain from now on.

My husband and I recently stayed at a Quality Inn by Choice Hotels at: 2252 south Main Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 on 6-10-2023. I wanted to report that the floors were almost like they had been mopped with oil and were slick and sticky – so we wore our shoes after getting out of the shower. And there seemed to be a perfumed cleaning product that smelled the entire room- we had to leave the door open to help air out the room. After moving the curtain to the window, above the air conditioning unit a cup fell off the unit, that had coffee stain and mold in it- how long had that been there! But upon going to bed, the smell seemed to be coming from the air conditioning unit – wherever the smell was coming from- whether it was the unit or the cleaning supplies, it was very strong and had a burning sensation in our nose. We will not choose to stay in this Quality Inn in the future. Sincerely, Karen T

Cancelled our booking without telling us we had nowhere to stay after travelling from the UK. our contract was to pay at check in but the manager Chris just didn’t care he said he tried to call me but I never received a call, he could have emailed me but didn’t bother.. absolutely disgusting way to treat customers. Be warned you might not get your room even if you prove you booked it

We stayed here on our way home from a trip to visit family and of the three places we stayed, this was the best by far! We arrived late at night and honestly wished we had had longer to stay. Bed was wonderfully comfortable—something we had trouble finding on this trip! We would definitely stay here again!

The people here were fantastic we arrived here around 7pm my husband went to get us something to eat as he arrived back but not all the way back our car broke down they came & helped us get the back up by our room made phone calls 4 us they were great. Did everything they could 2 help us. Rooms were nice & clean comfortable bed.
