II Bitou River Lodge sorge sulle rive del fiume Bitou, a 11,8 km dalla Baia di Plettenberg. Dispone di piscina e di camere con vista sul giardino che porta al fiume.

On our trip through South Africa, some accommodations have remained so etched in our memory that we will definitely return. One of them is the Bitou River Lodge. We have never slept better anywhere on our trip than there. The beds were so comfortable. The place is a small oasis on the small river Bitou. The breakfast is delicious. It is about 13 minutes to Plettenberg Bay. A perfect base for great excursions.

What a lovely place. Well worth a visit. In the process of being revamped but it was a most enjoyable stay. Breakfast could be a little more substantial but the food was excellent. The setting is beautiful and Emmanual was a wonderful host. We will be back

Unfortunately the owners did not expect us until the day after our arrival even though we had email confirmation of our dates. We were greeted by the rather surprised mother of the owner. Our rooms were fine but there was a problem with the water pump which meant we were washing in brown water until it was repaired on our second day. Despite this we loved the place and Kerry, Clint and the children could not have been more helpful. The rooms are comfortable but perhaps a little dated. Kerry told us of their big plans to upgrade the rooms over the next few months with little if any, disturbsnce to guests. I could spend hours in the canoes on the little Bitou river there listening to the birds. Heavenly.

What a stunningly, beautiful place. Everything was perfect and I wish I could have stayed longer. Peaceful and I woke up revitalized and at peace with the world. Clint and Kerry are fabulous hosts and a high 5 to Emmanuel, their house manager. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely 6-night break at Bitou River Lodge, which is a quiet, rural location about 10 minutes outside Plett. The breakfast every day was good; the room was very comfortable; and there were plenty of places, inside and outside, to sit quietly to read a book. Our host and hostess have recently taken it over; I gather it was previously slightly run-down. They provided us with suggestions as to where to eat - although a summary list would have been a good idea, to avoid having to bombard them with questions. The water is local, and sometimes brown; that will no doubt be sorted out in due course. We will certainly consider returning.

We've tried Good, Bad, Great, OK in Plett over the last 3 years. Our No 1 remains Bitou River Lodge. We managed to get 3 nights last year, 6 this year and will book early to secure 10 nights for Dec 2024. Away from the traffic jams, but close to very good restaurants and markets, easy drive to best beaches and yoga early morning. Fabulous hosts and staff. Love it.

Stayed here for business reasons. We had the bunny cottage. It's cozy, clean and private. There's a beautiful view over the Vineyards and a restaurant within 100 meters. Private braai and deck with an outdoor bath. A smart television with Netflix and YouTube. A beautiful and massive shower. Good quality king size bed. They provide an abundance of towels and there is excellent wifi service. I stayed for afew days and it was very peaceful. There is a large fridge and freezer, with ice included. They also include braai wood, although it was a bit damp. All the things you need for self catering. I can see the hosts take pride and effort to prepare the best stay for their guests.

My daughter and I spent two nights at Bitou River Lodge. While she attended a wedding, I enjoyed the comfort, peace and tranquility of the lodge on the banks of the Bitou River. 10-15 minutes outside Plettenberg Bay it is well located to enjoy all the activities that Plett and the surrounding area offers, but it is a gentle, restorative place to be if relaxation is what you are looking for. I enjoyed bird watching and reading in a hammock near the pool. Our hosts, Kerry and Clint, were welcoming, caring hosts and the lodge team were attentive. I will definitely return to this special place.
