had the most wonderful experience at Coot Club. From the moment I arrived, every member of the team made me feel truly cared for. The staff were exceptionally friendly, kind, and always eager to assist – from the cleaner right through to the general manager. No request ever felt like too much, and I was served with genuine warmth and attention at every turn. It’s rare to come across such consistent kindness and care across all levels of service. Coot Club is a gem, and I’ll definitely be returning. Did I mention the food was amazing?

We had a fabulous 2 night stay at Coot Club. Our boathouse was stunning and had fabulous views of the mountains and water. Our trip to the beach was great fun and I enjoyed my first experience of sandboarding! We also managed to catch a few glimpses of whales from the beach. The staff were all very friendly and breakfast was great.

From the time we arrived, we were treated like family. The rooms are well-designed with fine attention to detail, and everything we needed for the weekend, from coffee to hot water bottles. The service was excellent yet unobtrusive. The food is superb and the setting is magical.

Such a nice stay here. The food is excellent and nothing is too much for the staff. In particular we enjoyed the evening meals and the trip to the beach was a surprising highlight of the whole holiday. Unfortunately the road to the property is difficult to drive on and actually caused us a flat tyre. Also the rooms were unbearably hot. So close to perfect but unfortunately the road condition and the lack of air con takes a point away.

A stay at the Coot Club is a lifetime experience. The format of a series of lodges set along the shores of a lagoon with a central dining and activities area named the Clubhouse works brilliantly. There are a great number of sporting activities on the lagoon including sailing & waterskiing. All meals are of a high quality and are served under the age old milkwood trees. Each lodge has its own cooking facilities if you prefer a more peaceful time. The management are always available to organise trips and activities. A stay here is a very special experience not to be missed.

As I drove up the 8km dirt track and recollected some rather negative reviews, I did wonder what had I done with booking the Coot Club. However absolutely no concerns were needed. Under new management, with ongoing plans for even better facilities and services, the place is just perfect. In no particular order the highlights included impressive accommodation with magnificent mountain views, super friendly staff, really delicious food, a beautiful secluded beach with stunning sand dunes and shells, paddle boarding and kayaking on the lagoon and a games room of dreams for children of all ages (and therefore for parents too!) The list of off site and local activities is plentiful. We visited an ethical cat sanctuary and did the marine 5 sea tour- both really good. My Coot Club experience will be a memory that lasts a very long time and I would happily return in a heart beat. Highly highly recommend.

What a wonderful hidden treasure Coot Club is! The location is stunning as was our accommodation in Boat House 1, as well as the lovely main house with the bar and dining room and the outdoor dining area under the trees. All really beautiful. Ella Anne her husband were very welcoming and friendly and provided us with an accommodation upgrade which was most thoughtful and much appreciated. The staff were all very friendly, attentive and efficient - delightful. There were kayaks and paddle boards available during the day and a host of organised activities for children and, although we were there as just a couple, it was clear that the children there were having a wonderful time! The adult only pool provided a very pleasant tranquil area where we were able to relax and enjoy the amazing surroundings while sipping something delicious in peace. Definitely a hidden gem!

Coot Club is amazing! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was just wonderful! The location is stunning! The staff are just wonderful! They helped us book activities before we arrived and helped with everything during our stay. The service was so personalised, asking our 2 year old if he wanted to play with this / that. It was just wonderful, 2 months on and he still asks if he can go to the beach with Becky (guide) again! We are altready talking about when we can visit SA again to come back here. The food is also superb! You do not need a 4x4 to drive the road in, we had a 'normal' car and its absolute fine My only regret is that we didn't have longer here!
