We were I. A room on the top floor which have a great view. However the room was tired and desperately needs refurbishment. The room was also VERY warm - no heating was on but because the windows are (understandably) restricted in how wide they open there was limited cool air that could reach the room. This meant us having to sleep in a room with a temperature over 28’c which was unbearable.

Excellent location. Good reception. Wedding party in full swing was fine. Sadly, the restaurant was closed which was disappointing as we were hoping to have a relaxing evening. Food was served in the bar and was not the standard you would expect at such an establishment but we had no choice as local restaurants were difficult to secure a booking so late in the day. Room was fine and staff excellent. Small problem with evening bar meal was avoidable. Although we booked a table on arrival using our room number, we received a call from reception the following day asking for payment - we explained that we were not due to leave until the following day and would settle the account immediately if required - which we did. Again not the level of expertise and communication you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

We have stayed here a few times over many years and its a beautiful hotel. The rooms are meticulously cared for and presented and the staff are fantastic! The breakfasts were wonderful, a full range of food being available. This time our room was rather cold, in spite of the radiator being on full blast, but staff brought us an extra plug in and we were toasty!
Well be here again!
