Isabella Country House

Dreaming of a late spring holiday with sunshine after a wet, wet, wet winter, we booked a week on Corfu and opted for Isabella's Country accom. It was fine, particularly the beautiful garden around the pool. There are all sorts of trees, bushes and cacti, sunbeds, hammocks, cats and a very tranquil atmosphere. The house is a ten minute walk from the main road north in Gouvia, with a supermarket and easy access to the town. There is no footpath or pavement. Our studio apartment was small, in fact a bit cramped, particularly the little kitchen area. The shower unit needs to be bigger to avoid flooding the floor (as other guests have mentioned). But the beds were comfortable and there's a little terrace with a big table and views towards the trees and pool. The room was cleaned by friendly staff and the manager was all smiles and efficiency. We ate some meals in Gouvia and zoomed around the island using the buses which conveniently stop close to the supermarket. So we had a good time!

My apologies this is long over due. My partner and I stayed with you last June 20222 for one week , we stayed in the studio apartment over looking the back garden. We would like to say thank you to all of your staff for a lovely stay . They were all very welcoming and helpful nothing was too much. The rooms were lovely and clean ,it is a very beautiful place, quiet and relaxing . We liked it so much we have just booked it for June this year . Thank you

A wonderful place to stay at. Gouvia is a nice small village and its central location makes it a perfect base to explore the island. We stayed in studio 11 which was great. It's located in the back of the garden and offers sufficient privacy. There's a big double bed, a kitchenette, small bathroom and a covered terrace. The rooms are very clean and breath a homy vibe. You'll feel right at home. To top it off there are 2 kittens and an adult cat who love to play and cuddle. The only minor remark about the studio is the very small shower with curtain. During the next renovations, this should be a priority. The pool and garden are gorgeous. There's a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere. It would certainly recommend mend this place and will gladly return.

Ich war mit meiner Freundin eine Woche hier. Isabella Country House ist ein idyllischer Platz in herrlicher Natur und wunderbar ruhig, fernab vom Trubel. Dennoch erreicht man zu Fuß in kurzer Zeit den Ort und den Strand. Das gesamte Personal war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit, vor allem Kosta war uns mehrfach bei Problemen behilflich und ist uns weit über das übliche Maß entgegen gekommen. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und können diese Unterkunft für alle, die Erholung und Ruhe fernab vom Massentourismus suchen, wärmstens empfehlen. Voor deze prijs weet je dat je geen grote luxe moet verwachten. Toch denk ik dat deze prima locatie betere tijden heeft gekend. Alles mag eens opgefrist worden. Onze kamer (11) was proper. De badkamer is aan vernieuwing toe, en een douchegordijn is niet meer van deze tijd. Ontbijt vanaf 9u, dus met honger op uitstap. Het zwembad is prima, bubbelbad is verwaarloosd. Mooie rustig tuin. Isabella Country house heeft alle mogelijkheden om een topbeleving te kunnen geven maar dat is het uiteindelijk niet.

Magnifique endroit, très calme, le personnel est charmant très sympathique et toujours aux petits soins. Très belle piscine, Service impeccable. Très bien placé pour visiter Corfou. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Je recommande fortement

Bij aankomst werden we in een omgebouwde kelderruimte onder het oude gebouw gedropt. Het stonk er beschimmeld en de lakens op het bed voelden klam aan. Dit kwam echt niet overeen met de foto's op de website. We hebben de kamer enkele dagen verlucht maar het hielp niks. We hebben dit aan Tui en aan de receptie gemeld. De receptie is overigens een tuinhuisje en is zo goed als nooit bemand. Tui zei dat we het met de receptie moesten oplossen. De vierde dag van ons verblijf mochten we een kamer betrekken in het nieuwe gebouw. Kamer 5. De eerste indruk was ok maar bij nader toezien zagen we het volgende: Achter de deur was een meter bezetsel los gekomen. De tegels in de douche lagen los. De accordeon arm van de scheerspiegel was er nog maar de spiegel niet. De natuurstenen vloer zag er vies uit en de voegen kwamen op meerdere plaatsen los. De houder van de rookmelder zat nog wel op het plafond maar geen rookmelder. De ijskast was onderaan verroest. Het dubbelglas in het raam heeft waterdamp aan de binnenzijde en is dus stuk. Het raam van de badkamer sluit ook niet helemaal. In de zitplaatst achteraan zit rechtsboven een flinke barst in een draagbalk. De kap van de staanlamp is op meerdere plaatsen gescheurd enz... Het onbijt heeft plaats onder een pergola in de tuin naast een halfrot tuinhuis waarin het ontbijt wordt klaargemaakt. Het ontbijt bestaat uit een kwak yoghurt in een diep bord en een omelet met oploskoffie. Toe mijn echtgenote daarover een opmerking maakt ,verscheen er de volgende ochtend een mandje met fruit. Het "buffet" is een klein tuintafeltje met 3 potten "cereals" en nu dus ook een mandje fruit. De dame van het ontbijt kon amper Engels (Albanees?) Om met iets positiefs te eindigen: de tuin is heel mooi en staat vol oude bomen, maar de jaccuzi heeft echt zijn beste tijd gehad. Het plastic van de kussens krult er gewoon af.
