Amber Springs Hotel

I can definitely see what all the fuss is about this hotel is absolutely amazing for families it's got all the amenities you could ask for. Food is really tasty plenty of choice and the breakfast is stunning . My boys loved the pool and all facilities upstairs for the kids... and all the staff are really lovely

Outstanding venue to take your family on holiday, it was over and above our expectations. We were checked in by the friendly & efficient Aine who could not have been more helpful. The children loved their den & bunk beds, I loved the privacy of having our own bedroom space separate from the children & we all noticed how large & spacious the bathroom was. At dinner time we were given exceptional service with prompt delivery of children’s meals & a friendly smiling face serving us- I’m sorry I forgot to ask the young man’s name but he was fabulous. The swimming facilities were spotless & lots of fun for all four of us. We hired a childminder through the hotel called Trish & she was first class, we honestly felt so safe for the two hours we went to the bar without our children. While at the bar we were served by a lovely man who is made for his job as a barman. He even recommended me a drink that I wouldn’t have ever picked myself but it was delicious (a Caribbean fizz I think it’s called) He was working alone the hour or two we were there yet he managed to serve every single customer quickly & with a personal touch for everyone. My husband & I were so impressed by him. A very genuine & friendly man whose name I don’t know (sorry!) At breakfast the next morning we were served a hearty & delicious breakfast. The quality of food was amazing and I found it a lot nicer than some five star hotels we have been to in the past. There is a cinema, mini zoo, go-karts, games room for children and another for teenagers all within the grounds. The entire hotel was immaculately clean but by far it was the staff that made it an incredibly enjoyable experience for us all. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know & there isn’t any doubt we will be returning in the near future. Thank you to the Amber Springs Hotel for a lovely memorable staycation.

My wife and I enjoyed a most enjoyable two night stay at the hotel on the 3rd & 4 th of October. The staff were professional and friendly and the food excellent. Our accommodation was excellent and value for money. I would recommend this hotel for friends and families

Amber Springs is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, in a long time. The excellence of the staff and level of hospitality is 5star. It is definitely family friendly and the breakfast is the best I've ever seen. We were there under sad circumstances and the hotel provided for us as a family, somewhere comfortable to stay. I will be back to fully enjoy the amenities. Beautifully decorated, caring staff and comfortable surroundings.

We visited this hotel in April this year and it was an amazing stay however this time round it was very disappointing. Paid full price for 2night stay even though it's out of season Only 1 restaurant open with very poor food choice. Staff in restaurant were slow had to ask for cutlery and wipes for our food. Got charged for squash in the restaurant but not in residents bar, Playground was out of action but only told on arrival. Reception gave us vouchers for mini golf which is fine for the 8 and 5year old but no use to a 1 year old go karts weren't able to be used as staff didn't want to go out in the drizzle of rain, Shower water leaked all over the bathroom floor made it lethal to walk on, kids were very disappointed this time round as they had been looking forward to the playground, go karts and the burger house out in the garden but all was closed. Unfortunately after this stay we probably won't return.

Food and bedrooms are nice. The playzone is great for kids. Unfortunately we did have some bad points: fire alarm went off during the night and woke the whole family (even if it was only for a few seconds) Train only ran 3 times a week once a day and was booked out quickly. Needed to book everything for food with a toddler is not ideal and no bookings until after 8 meant we ate outside the hotel alot. The lights in our bedroom had 4 different light switches to turn off the main light - which we were made seem silly about. No mention of the playground being out of action when we were booking and given a crazy golf ticket instead for our 1 year old..... the tap sprayed water everywhere and didnt actually reach the sink. No fridge in the room left things very difficult for bottles of milk (not formula). Towels so small. Overall i think maybe we just got unlucky with our stay but I wouldn't be in a hurry back sorry!

We booked for 1 night, check in time was 4pm, we were early but they gave us our room which was a double bed and 2 singles, the room was immaculate, we had lunch then went to the swimming pool which was a 14 mtr one , there was a sauna, dip pool , hot room, jacuzzi, all included in the price. This hotel was one of the nicest one we have stayed in, how ever if you do not children and the noise of children then this is not for you, the whole hotel is geared up for children, from kids clubs to kids cinema, it is a place you can comfortably bring the kids knowing that they are well looked after. Food wise we had lunch (good) a burger from the burger hut (Very good) and allyou can eat breakfast (excellent) which included the usual plus continental style. The staff were the most friendliest and helpful from the maids to the front desk. If you want to grab a family bargain this is the hotel.

The hotel is fabulous. The terrace bar was extremely understaffed and Carl the barman really went above and beyond to keep customers happy . We had a 7pm booking for dinner after being seated and a drink order taken we waited 25 minutes for it to be brought down. The waiter in charge seemed very reluctant to help the waiting / bar staff.

It was ok, but there are a few things to be aware of before you visit. To note: we required a fridge in the room, I would expect a fridge in all rooms of a 4 star hotel but there wasn't one there. However, the staff did arrange for us to stay in a room with a fridge, after a few emails back and forth. - The hotel is fairly grubby and could do with a full redecoration. - Threadbare carpets on the main staircase, the internal stairs need a really good hoover. - The windows are all dirty, they look like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. - The toilets in the ladies changing rooms at the pool are disgusting, picture attached. - Towels are small in the bedrooms and pool area. - Towels and bedding are yellowed from long time use. - There are no facilities for drying swimsuits, I asked if there was a way to dry swimsuits and was advised that it would cost €10 per suit to have them dried. - No extractor fan in the bedroom bathrooms. - The skirting boards and plug sockets had paint splatters on them and were very dusty. - The silicone in the shower had black stains. - Hairdryers and iron are no use at all. I requested a new iron but it never arrived. - The bed bases all had dirt on them. - The play area is very dusty and needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Very few balls in the ball pit - which was a big disappointment to my young son. Seats in the play area look like they have been repurposed from an old bar and aren't in great condition. - On the days that we were there, the bathroom in the play area was dirty. The staff were mostly wonderful. Some real stand outs were Michael at breakfast, Catriona on reception, the waiters at the FHB restaurant and the 2 men who run the train. Managers came across as unfriendly. We have stayed at another well known 4 star hotel in Wexford and Amber Springs isn't a patch on that hotel. I would not return to, or recommend Amber Springs Hotel.
