During our stay, while leaving our room, my boyfriend accidentally brushed against a wooden piece of forniture that was hanging on the wall right next to the door of our room (room 104). This piece of furniture consequently fell right on my right foot, causing me a subungueal hematoma. The ease with which this object fell from the wall and caused me this injury leads me to affirm that it is a dangerous object: it was in fact hung on the wall with a simple screw inserted into a soft wall, probably made of tuff, without the support of any dowel. Moreover, as a consequence of the injury I obviously was not able to enjoy the last days of my holiday, because I could not walk properly, nor wear closed shoes (which is problematic in Kapadokya, where all activities are based on trekking). Therefore, I reached the manager of the hotel to explain him the danger of keeping such an object hanging of the wall without the proper precautions, and asked him a compensation for the physical damages it had caused me. Regardless of my situation, he replied me that he had no responsibility for what happened, and that every room has had the same piece of forniture for 5 years and they never fell off. The thing is, I think the problem is just that this object has been hanging for several years without dowel on a wall that crumbles easily, and therefore the wall has worn out over time, making the wooden object unstable. As a proof, I went to my friends’ room to check if the same piece of furniture was hanging more stably, and just by lifting it to see if there was a dowel, the screw simply slipped out of the wall. When pointing this out, the manager claimed that he had never seen such things as dowels, and that in Turkey they don’t use them. However, there were a couples of dowels right in the wall of the reception, thus showing that he was lying for no reason. The manager firmly repeated that he didn’t owe me any refund, and that the only thing he could do was to call a doctor to visit me. I accepted and, while I was waiting, I asked for the first-aid kit. He replied me that the facility didn’t have one and that the doctor would bring anything useful. The absence of the kit is of course another thing that makes me state that Göreme Valley Cave House lacks of safety. Last, I want to underline that during the whole conversation the manager has showed to be unconcerned, checking his phone while I was trying to talk to him. When speaking with Booking Costumer Service, the manager lied once again, saying that we had agreed that he would pay the medical expenses and in return he would not ask us for compensation for the furniture. Besides the fact that this is a lie, as there was no agreement between us, the "medical expenses" he alludes to are: application of Voltaren, gauze bandage and cocktail ice cubes (despite my requests, he didn't even provide me with instant ice). In conclusion, he has not compensated me for the damages suffered because he claims he has no responsib
