Melia Grand Hermitage

For a family with a 14 year boy, it was perfect. We chose the Level and it was more that we expected: special restaurant, special pool, special sea view bar. The beach was ok, but the old custom of tourists to occupy the deck chairs with towels from 6.30 in the morning ( and they came to the beach at 11.00-12.00) it was not so pleasant.

This was a great choice for our holiday. From the time we arrived, to the time we left, we experienced a high level of service and accommodating staff. We choose to purchase the "the level" upgrade, which in our opinion, is a wise choice. Rooms: The rooms are very spacious, well kept and clean. The beds are big and wide and both of us slept extremly well. We purchased a seaview room, which was a good choice. The daily cleaning was very satisfactory and of high standard. The life saving air conditioning worked very satisfactory. The hotels was quiet at night and we had no problems with noise or sutch. Restaurants: The main restaurant could be very busy at times. But as we purchased "The Level" upgrade, we had the option to eat at a more quiet restaurant only for The level guests. There where a wide variety of different food to choose from, combined with daily specialities. Ex. sushi (some days). Other options to choose from were an American, Italien and bulgarian restaurants which we did not try. During the day, other options were avaliable. Burger, Pizza and sandwich, combined with a variety of soft drinks and alchoholic beverages and coffee. Pool and activities: The main pool was very nice and there we allmost allways available sunchairs. "The Level" upgrade gave access to a private and more quiet pool sorrounded by a spacious park area with sunbeds. The area also gave access to a private bar and lounge area. During the day the staff would come by and take drink orders or bring icecream when possible. The animation team made great efforts to activate any guest who wanted to participate. Water aerobics, dart, yoga, pool volleyball and waterpolo where daily arranged. Outside the hotel you had the option to explore the markeds, small shops, bars and restaurantes, if you wanted to. All in all, this was a great hotel to stay in. We experiensed no problems at all and everywhere we went, we were met by a positive and accommodation staff. We would certainly come back!

This was a lovely hotel with friendly staff and good food. We have just returned from ten days here. The animation team were good fun and never missed an opportunity for a chat. The room was big and spacious with the best views! We did think that housekeeping of the room was not very good. I think the only thing I actually did in the 10 days we were there was change the towels every day, the beds maybe twice I don’t take the bins. The 2 cups and two glasses were never changed. One day we had to cool down to reception for toilet paper – has now had been left! Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff we dealt with. The grounds and facilities were very good. The beach facilities were good too. The only downside for us was if you went down to the promenade for a walk after dinner in the evening there was nothing. A few supermarkets overpriced shoe shops and a lot of cheap rubbish gift shops. The locals didn’t seem keen on you being there and could appear stern faced and often rude.

I had a very disappointing experience during my stay at Grand Hermitage Varna. One afternoon, I was feeling unwell and called reception asking for medical assistance. I was initially told a doctor would come to my room. Shortly after, they called again and instructed me to go to a medical center because the doctors were “busy.” I was not informed that this was a private medical center. Upon arrival, the doctor administered an IV drip and recommended additional tests, including blood analysis and an ultrasound, which were performed at yet another location. At no point was I informed about the costs beforehand. After treatment, I was shocked to discover a bill exceeding €1,100 for services, supposedly covering three days of treatment. I did not consent to additional days of treatment, and when I raised this issue, I was told I had been “informed beforehand,” which was not true. Attempts to clarify or dispute the charges were met with excuses about government tax and private center policies. Furthermore, when I asked the hotel why there is no in-house medical service, I was told that all nearby hotels operate in this way. Yet the hotel itself does not take responsibility or provide clear information to guests regarding private medical services. This experience felt misleading, unfair, and highly unprofessional. Guests should be fully informed if medical services are outsourced to private centers with separate fees. The lack of transparency and accountability from the hotel is deeply concerning. I cannot recommend this hotel under these circumstances.

The best holiday of our lives at Melia Grand Hermitage! We’ve just returned from the most amazing vacation we’ve ever had — everything at Melia Grand Hermitage exceeded our expectations! The food was outstanding, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was full of joy and fun. We laughed a lot, danced, swam, relaxed… we truly have nothing to complain about. The animation team was absolutely amazing — always engaging with us, inviting us to join their activities, games, dance sessions, and fun workouts. Their energy was contagious and made every day special! A very special mention goes to Eva, who is truly a valuable part of the team — warm, enthusiastic, and full of life. She made a lasting impression on us. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year — and many more years to come! Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

One of the best vacations of my life. Very nice hotel. Good food. The animators are very professional and friendly. I'll definitely go back there someday
