I recently visited Siemiatycze with a Polish friend. We stayed overnight at the Kresowiak Hotel. It is a fairly small hotel (the town is also small.) We stayed in one of their “apartment” rooms. The room was rather spacious and nicely furnished. When I first stayed at the hotel about 7 years ago, it was difficult for me since no one there spoke good English (at least during my overnight visit). This time, the woman at the desk spoke to me well in English as did the servers in the restaurant. I don’t think I encountered any of the cleaning staff, so I can’t speak about them, but the room was spotlessly clean and had very good bedding, pillows, and towels. It also had a small balcony that faced the road in front. In the basement level of the building is a small supermarket which sells all kinds of groceries, including meats and frozen foods as well as snacks and cold drinks. Behind the hotel is a parking lot for customers of the store as well as for hotel guests. My friend drove and parking was no problem at all. The hotel is just off the main town square. The hotel DOES have an elevator; I just did not notice it on my previous stay. .. my bad in my earlier review My friend and I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both of which were very good. The dinner had a good number of choices. The breakfast was buffet style with ample choices. In both cases, the cooking was excellent, the food fresh, and the waitresses very efficient. Perhaps because we got there on Friday night, there were parties on both the night and in the late morning. The events did not disturb us, but because of the high quality of the meals, the hotel does seem to be one of the places in town where local people sometimes go for such events. Siemiatycze is not a large town, so the hotel is rather inexpensive, as is the restaurant. While the Kresowiak is not luxurious, it is very clean and friendly and the rooms I’ve stayed in are a good size and the beds comfortable. One gets a lot for his money there, so it is an excellent choice if one is visiting the region. While it does not seem to be a rich town, Siemiatycze is very nice, clean, and is very friendly.
