Premier Inn Gloucester (Longford)

Not one of the most modern of of this chain but functional and comfortable nevertheless. Shower over short bath instead of just a shower tray. Breakfast away from accommodation - luckily weather was dry. Standard fayre for breakfast but a big shout out to Simone who was brilliant.

Clean lovely little hotel- receptionist was so lovely, making sure if I wanted to have breakfast added on and if there was anything else needed. Room was cosy and the heating was great and quick to work. Was quite noisy in the day but understand the staff were cleaning and keeping up with the hotel maintenance.

Excellent service from all staff we met. Room was clean & fulfilled our needs. My only criticism would be that we booked a family room for adult & child stay, there was only 1 bath towel whereas I would have expected 2. Ideal location if you are visiting Kingsholm. Approx 20 min walk, or there is a frequent bus service almost right outside. Food in restaurant was great as was the service

I echo the review submitted by emcee 49. In fact we stayed over the same weekend. We have used this facility for many years so it was a bit of a shock that the pub had gone and was being used by Premier Inn to serve meals. The bar was open to guests from 5 pm, no good to us, we arrived at lunch time after travelling from London and would have appreciated the opportunity for a drink. Senior management need to take a good look at emcee 49 review which I fully support. We had booked a table for dinner at 7pm but the only staff member on duty apologised to us at 7.30pm that he was unable to delivery the service required due to the number of guests present and he was a one man band. We felt so sorry for him and could see the situation was unlikely to improve. We left by taxis to find an alternative option. We made a complaint to the manager the following morning, that evening he was on duty in the restaurant and the service was very good. I know further development will be taking place in the future with a breakfast facility within the hotel building. The manager offer a refund on the dinner, we hadn’t received and provided a complimentary drink with our dinner on the second evening. The room was very clean and we enjoyed two good nights sleep. Unfortunately the remainder of our stay didn’t reach our expectations and we were disappointed it’s been allowed to decline to that level. We couldn’t recommend staying at this facility at present and we will certainly avoid it until the construction work as been completed and the facility is properly staffed.

What an absolutely delightful place. When you walk in there is a shelf with teddies, water bottles and books you can have for a donation. The staff are friendly and beyond helpful. The rooms are clean, modern and fresh. The best one I have stayed in by far!

Rachel and Team Longford has been great, not just the service but communication throughout the process from start to finish, exceptionally well on all aspects. They're friendly and welcoming, highly recommend. We would love to stay again and not just because of the free parking but convient to get in and around the area.
