Heart of Glencoe Holidays

Lovely well equipped bunkhouse, clean and cosy! Easy check-in and check-out, hot showers were well appreciated after a day in the hills. Fabulous location in beautiful Glencoe surrounded by the mountains and hills, thanks for a lovely stay!

Easy and smooth booking. Keys on the door when we arrived. We were asked to leave the keys on the door at check out. Cosy caravan, all equiped. Beds not very comfortable but acceptable. Nice views. Bear in mind that you are asked to undo all the beds, put all linen in laundry bag as well as all towels used before check out at 10 am. This is not included in the price. For a family of 4 with 2 teenagers that was no mean feat on a Sunday morning. We hurried to undo all the beds, gather all our stuff and leave the place tidy. A lady came in around 10.15 am. We said we were sorry and were almost ready to go. She could see we were packed and loading the car. She came back about 5 minutes later, reminded us we were meant to be out by 10am and basically waited to make sure we were out. We shoved in the car everything that was left, put our shoes on (untied), started the engine on and quickly left, feeling as if we were running away like thieves. The first half hour of my Glencoe experience was tainted by this uncomfortable feeling but fortunately the breathtaking landscapes cleared the discomfort. We did the Lost Valley walk and we all loved it including our teenagers who had an amazing time scrambling, climbing, exploring. Anyway, the bottom line is that the rule was 10 am check out, we were late, that’s our fault. But a little bit of understanding and kindness would have been appreciated, particularly as it was our very first face-to-face contact with the people running the place. We live in Glasgow and will definitely come back to Glencoe but sadly not to Heart of Glencoe Holidays even with the 10% discount for returning Guests. Despite the name, it didn’t feel there was much heart into this business.

Brilliant location, very friendly & helpful owners and a wonderful set up in the bunk house. All very modern & clean, I loved the curtains around each bed for privacy-what a great idea! Will definitely be back-it’s a great location to plan a large get together.

Excellent place to stay.. peaceful ,quiet and relaxing. Central to Glencoe yet rural. Very near Glencoe Lochan a most beautiful place to visit and walk. Cat and crew go out of their way to make your stay feel like you can’t wait to return!! 🙂 🙂🙂

We spent a wonderful 3 nights at the Heart of Glencoe - we loved the Fireside Bothy. It was great for our family of 3. It is filled with atmosphere, a few quirks and a lot of charm. We loved the location - great views, mostly sheep for neighbors and near great hikes and the Glencoe Visitors Center. From here we took the Jacobite (Hogwarts Express) Steam Train (about 30 mins north), hiked most the lost valley trail (it was raining so we skipped the waterfall crossing) and had a great NTS Range Rover tour (see separate review).

What a glorious week we have just spent here. The Gold plus caravan was spotless and the little welcome gifts were such a lovely touch, the chocolate ginger biscuits especially went down a treat! The views towards the mountains were amazing as we sat on the decking taking it all in and listening to the birdsong. Peaceful, tranquil and perfect location.
