Palm Afrique Lodge Botswana

Hats off for Sonja and her crew for running this oasis in the middle of the Kalahari. Incredibly comfortable, great food , happy staff and a lovely ambiance create a restful stop over when driving through Botswana. We will hopefully be back soon !

Great stay for one night. Room was very clean & big! There was no air conditioning, but a blower that went very loud at best and was fully aimed at the bed. The food was fine, I wonder if the staff is happy with their work, it didn't radiate. Very nice accommodation, but a happy vibe is hard to taste.

I spend a couple of nights at Palm Afrique and what a wonderful experience. It was the most peaceful and relaxing experience. Sparkling blue swimming pool and well stock bar. Food to die for. Thanks to the staff and the owners, Bertie and Sonja for a such a pleasant experience. I will definately be back

We spent one night here recently and when we walked into the bar, the owner and son (maybe son in law) were watching a YouTube video on a large TV screen. We were horrified to see that it was explaining how to hide hand guns. They made no attempt to turn it off and continued to watch. Later, at dinner, we witnessed the owner shouting and screaming at a member of staff for about 15 minutes in front of the 12 guests eating in the dining area. They were in the office, with the window open, in full view of us all while we were eating. We were shocked and upset and very embarrassed to have witnessed such an appalling act, as were other diners. It appeared there had been some mix up with some guests names which had led to some confusion. It certainly wasn't something that needed any more than a quiet, private discussion. I was fully intending to talk to the owner in the morning but he had conveniently disappeared and didn't return before we checked out. Any opinion I had about the lodge itself, disappeared after witnessing this ****** attack.

Nice place with friendly people.Very clean place. Hut was small but nice. The food was awesome. This place is a little to big for me. Also the bar was weird. The bar played loud music but the main office was right next door and played different music all night which I could not hear from my room. Also the bar does not accept credit car but if you order a drink with your food than you can pay with card.

Great lodge for a stop over on the long road. The last 3 km are very sandy, but no problem with a high clearance vehicle. The information provided is a bit confusing, there are no self-catering facilities, but they organised us a microwave, when we asked for it. The rooms are very comfortable, bed and linen of good quality, good shower. Nice layout of the lodge area, which is paved or grassed, while all the surroundings are very sandy. Nice pool, a necessity in this hot climate. There is also a gave viewing platform. The owners are very nice and so is the staff. A great surprise in Botswana, where we are used to very mediocre facilities at a high price.

I regularly camp here on my way to Maun on business... as far as campsites go it pretty close to perfect. Great pitches, spotless ablutions, wifi, nice restaurant as well as swimming pool. Highly recommended!

My partner and I stayed overnight at this very well organised and secure establishment just outside the town of Ghanzi, in Botswana. After a warm welcome we were shown to our delightful room and given a thorough room orientation by the manager. It was a delightful thatched Cottage style room with a Queen size bed (Twin beds are an option) and it had a coffee/tea station, a kettle and a much needed wall mounted fan. The windows had a flexible mosquito gauze so that the windows could be opened at night...such a great idea. The bathroom had an amazing hot shower with a big shower head and towels and soap is provided. The meals were eaten at the restaurant near the main area and the delightful ladies provided impeccable service and delicious food. They were also really charming and engaging and they made our stay here really memorable. We were amused at breakfast when an ostrich ambled over and started consuming the leaves that were being swept up by a groundskeeper!! It was quite a show. The birding here is really good if you are into birds, but even so the bird calls and songs was delightful here. We had nothing to complain about and can only highly recommend this establishment. Only spent one night on way to Mabuasehube and will definitely use Palm Afrique again. An amazing campsite, really great chalets, great pub and pool area, superb buffet dinner and really really good hosts in Bertie and Sonja. Pity we had to leave early and couldn't stay for breakfast but will be back. Highly recomended to anyone in the area.
