Silver Beach Hotel & Apartments

Amazing place. Clean bright and on the edge of the beach. Private and secluded compared to the other resorts at Platanias and Chania. The food is excellent and my thanks to the chef Stavros whose recipes were simply too good to miss. The bar ladies were amazing and worked tirelessly and also friendly. The entire staff were brilliant. Live music was great. Has two pool and a decent pool size bar. It’s a mixed sand and pebble beach visited by sea turtles for their nests.

The place is a bit isolated but you’re in luck if you have a car. Local buses stop nearby on the main road and it’s a ten minute walk or just use a cab. We stayed 4 days and loved the place. Our room was very large with a balcony overlooking the sea. It had all the mod cons and was cleaned daily. Food is included so that’s all meals everyday plus you get free soft drinks, beer and wines included. Other hotels/ resorts should take note. The staff were all friendly, helpful and always available. Nothing was too difficult. It just made for a perfect holiday. I can’t stress how important this was after being in Croatia. You also have the choice of using the beach or one of the swimming pools. Beach towels are free and can be changed every couple of days. There’s a gym and other facilities making this place all inclusive and kid / family friendly. A big thanks to all the staff.

We decided to book Crete as we were visiting friends and family in the UK and we thought it would be nice to go away on holiday for a week as a family (Party on 6) I wouldn't hesitate in booking this hotel again. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was varied and fresh with plenty to choose from. Location was perfect for us as it was quiet however a short taxi ride allowed us access to shops,bars and restaurants in the local town. A special mention to the lovely lady Eleni who works behind the pool bar, nothing was too much trouble and she was always up for a laugh. A few tears were shed when we had to say goodbye.

12 of us came for a family holiday. Rooms were so dated not modern at all. Also put next to the Scorpio nightclub and others opposite beach bars so very noisy at night hotel staff were lovely and food had a good choice but absolutely no entertainment for children in the day and nothing for adults or children in the night. Wouldn't come back again paid a lot of money for this holiday and didn't get what we paid for.

Dear travelers who are going to visit the Silver Beach Hotel. We want to provide you with, we believe, important information that can save you from the troubles that we have already encountered (at the moment we are still in the hotel). So, the main issue we complain is disgusting work of air conditioners in the room. The air temperature in a room is too high, which definitely doesn’t allow you to have a normal rest during the day and sleep at night. Especially if you are allergic or have any heart problems. Moreover, at the same time, it is impossible to open the windows at night for two reasons: warm air and a huge number of aggressive mosquitoes. Unfortunately, after a few attempts to fix something, the hotel management eventually refused to solve this problem, advising either to get used to the warm temperature in the room or even leave the hotel (we’ve paid already full price to the travel agency). Initially, they offered our parents (who really need low temperature in the room by night due to health reasons) room with normal air conditioner, but just for few days not for the whole period we are going to stay here. Also, they told us that the hotel has a division into two parts: old and new. The old part (narrow windows, old-fashion rooms and air conditioners) is allocated to the Rainbow travel agency. The new rooms in the new buildings are for their own clients as well as for Booking clients. They will not accommodate Rainbow clients there and will not relocate them in ANY case, only for an additional full price. Here is such an incorrect segregation of customers. Never before in any hotel in the world that we visited, we have not met with such. We believe this absolutely doesn’t correspond to the level of 4 star hotel. In the future, we will publish a private review (advantages and disadvantages) with real photos and videos attached here and on special travel & social media portals.
