Oakhurst Farm Cottages

We have been there now for the fourth time. Everytime we stayed longer and longer. The kids love it to be there and the whole family looks forward to come back again next year. This year the variety of possible activities was even bigger than the last years. Oakhurst is renovating and expanding piece by piece the older cottages even if the older ones were already/still so nice. Further they try to always offer new activities. Surrounded by beautiful nature, Oakhurst is the perfect place to enjoy peace and quiet and, if you wish, take part in fun activities such as horse riding, donkey experiences, pedal boating, fishing or archery. We love it and will definately come back again.

We enjoyed our time at Oakhurst. We did partake in the dairy farm tour, the horse back riding and the pony rides. We enjoyed the braai and breakfast packages we had ordered, the hottub on the deck and the great scenery. We totally recommend staying here!

We stayed three nights at Oakhurst and were blown away with the accommodation, the openness of the surroundings and the friendliness of everyone on the farm and at reception. Booking was easy, we arrived and found the accommodation beautifully set out, everything that is mention on the website with regards the farm shop is correct. I so enjoyed the fact that I could order different meal packs and they were delivered to your door. Real farm butter, locally sourced meat and produce. There were bikes for hire and the kids rode the bike track and ventured out on the farm. We will definitely visit again and will be telling all our friends about it.

We were fortunate to enjoy a one-week stay at Oakhurst recently, and managed to book the newest cottage, known as Izak's Eden. What a lovely spot! The two-bedroom cottage is large and comfortable, with both a front and back porch. The kitchen is small but well-equipped, and the two bathrooms made it easy for our group of three to co-exist. The main bedroom is a joy, and the location of the cottage makes it super secluded without being too far removed. The rest of the Oakhurst experience was on standard with our previous visits. Friendly people, good facilities and plenty to do on the farm. The farm shop is well-stocked, and nothing is ever a problem for Wilna and her colleagues. In the end, we just enjoyed the tranquility offered by this stunning location, taking leisurely walks on the grounds, or playing with a frisbee in the big field near Reception. This is a world-class destination, and the addition of a wood-fired hot tub just adds a touch of decadence. Will we be back? Absolutely!

So many birds, so much greenery, much needed peace and quiet. The cottage we stayed in was perfect. It has everything we needed for a peaceful 2-night stay. It is suitable for all kinds of guests with absolute privacy. We made use of the braai and the hot tub. The farm shop also has fresh home-made baskets for purchase to braai and make breakfast which were absolutely delicious. It was a holiday to remember and we have already suggested it to friends and family. The staff were lovely and extremely responsive and helpful too. Don't forget to feed the chickens.

Two nights spend in absolute bliss. We stayed at the Forge - the setting couldn't be more dreamy, views into the forest and surrounded by horses and cows. The house is perfect, very clean and comfortable interior. The kitchen looks into the forest. The pictures of the place are 100% true and will never live up to the real magic when you stay there. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly, being able to pre-arrange a few farm goods such as ready-made Lasagane, made our late arrival ever sweeter and easier. The farm shop is extremely well stocked and the fresh eggs are such a treat. The 6km trail across the farm is one of the most beautiful trails in my mind of the garden route, and you have it all to yourself. You walk for hours through indigenous forest, hearing Knysna Turacos above you. We can't wait to go back!
