Skihotel Haus Gurgl

Having skied for many years in France I thought it worth going back to Austria for a change, choosing a high resort as it was March. Obergurgl seemed fit all my requirements for skiing and I chose the Haus Gurgl on its relatively small size, ease of access to the slopes and good reviews from previous guests. It did not disappoint. Rooms, spa, food, staff attentiveness - everything was superb. We were a group of mixed ability for skiing but there was ease of access to slopes for all abilities from the hotel either via piste or bus. Two of us ventured down to Solden to ski on our last day and wished we had gone sooner in order to take advantage of the area. If you are into James Bond the 007 Elements museum is definitely worth a visit and the views from the top up are stunning. If skiing the run down is great too. I would definitely return to Obergurgl and would look no further than the Haus Gurgl for sensibly priced excellent Austrian hospitality.

This is the best ski hotel I have ever stayed in. Super clean and well presented, roomy bedrooms, great bar and the half board breakfast and evening meal were nothing short of exceptional. The staff are extremely friendly and professional adding to an already great experience. The Spa is also lovely.

Immaculately clean and decorated throughout. Staff are all so friendly and helpful. My husband and I stayed in a family room with balcony for our honeymoon and the hotel arranged a lovely surprise for the first night. The rooms were cleaned and reset every day which was nice to come back from skiing to. The food was amazing every day for breakfast and dinner with a lot of variation. It was so convenient being able to collect our ski hire from the same building, and we had our own heated locker on the ground floor to store our equipment every day. We had an amazing honeymoon here and would definitely return.

Our 4th visit, our last in 2020, and we loved the new layout, especially the new boot room location and extension to the bar/dining area. It is by far the best ski hotel we have ever been too in all respects - beautiful decor, spacious & well equipped room, fabulous boot room, great location, superb spa area, delicious food and a very warm and friendly atmosphere with great staff. We wish you all the best for the rest of the season and hope to visit again.

The best ski holiday we've ever had. Location Is fantastic, Hotel had everything you need, heated locker room and spa was a bonus. Hotel was so clean and the food was excellent. Thank you to Tibor and Sophia, amazing staff that went the extra mile.

What a great hotel. We've stayed 4 times in Obergurgl, previously at the Lohman and had tried to book there but they were already full so after reading the reviews we decided on Haus Gurgl. In 20 years of skiing Haus Gurgl is the best Ski Hotel we've ever stayed in. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff are absolutely fantastic, hardworking and friendly, The food was of a very high standard and there is always plenty to eat. Breakfast is a buffet affair with eggs cooked to order, cereals, toast, nuts, seeds, variety of milks, oat, almond, cows etc, pastries, cheese, smoked salmon and more! Dinner is 5 course with a salad bar to start, then soup (2 choices), main course (3 choices, then desert and cheese if you're still hungry! A good wine list with both local and world wine choices, priced from around 25 euros per bottle. There is a bar area serving draft beer, cocktails and wine, all at sensible prices. Our rooms (306) had loads and loads of storage space and built in wardrobes. each room has a kettle (but take your own tea and coffee or buy it just down the road) Our room was spotlessly clean and serviced every day. Finally the Ski / Boot Room is amazing! Spotlessly clean and tidy. You are allocated a heated cupboard that operates from your room key, ample seating and pleasant smelling! The best Boot room we've ever seen. The setting is good, walk out of the hotel, up a small drag lift then 50 metre ski to one of the main Gondolas up to the central ski area, you can then ski back virtually right to the hotel at the end of the day. We've been home 2 days and are already planning next years visit to Haus Gurgl A huge thanks to the owners and staff on what is a great hotel.
