Dimora del Barone

My partner and I arrived on a very warm Friday afternoon and was immediately wowed by the Hotel Barone. The architecture and character is breathtaking and it only got better from there. Our host, Claudia, greeted us like old friends and gave us the tour. Fluent in English, she was able to charm both me and my awful English girlfriend. From her recommendations for activities and restaurants to her topping us our glass whilst having a drink on the beautiful terrace, her and all the staff at Hotel Barone made us feel welcome and it is because of this that we are now going to move to Gattinara and live in the back garden. Let's hope the cats don't find us first.

It was both a family house for a Barone and a office building attached to a Casmir factory, apparently. Don't let first impression fool you. This hotel has a ton of charm and the best service I ever have experienced. This is my second stay here, and I am looking forward to come back in summer time, when the garden is green, and we can have breakfast on the lovely veranda. I am staying her due to work travel, but I have no problem recommending it to family ore couples traveling for holydays. This hotel even has it own little chapel. How cute is that? There are plenty of boring hotels to choose from, but only a few really different and surprising ones. Did I mention the service??? The owner is the perfect tourist information, she books tables at really nice restaurants and tells you where to go for sightseeing. And if you need transport back from the local restaurant after a few glasses of wine, she offers to drive you..... The rooms a very clean, coffee and biscuits ar always available,,,, A different type of a hotel, but i love it. I will return on my next job travel to this area.
