Clifton Arms Hotel

We had our Wedding at the Clifton Arms Hotel recently and we could not have received better Service and Support from Kath, Emma , Molly and the rest of the Clifton Arms Team . They were great to work with and provided a perfect day we will remember for the rest of our lives . Beautiful Hotel and Venue. Thank you

The hotel has a fantastic location. It has a modern but still old world charm. Our room was excellent at the rear. Friends did not have the same experience. Food was good but service could be at a higher level. Tables in side rooms were not cleared quickly.

We arrived at the hotel with friends on Friday afternoon. We were allocated rooms on the second floor and these seemed to be ok. After dinner in Lytham we returned to the hotel to find that our rooms were anything but ok. A party with loud music was in full swing and we discovered to our dismay that our rooms were next to and immediately above the ballroom where the party was taking place. The noise in our room was unbearable! After two visits to reception we were informed that the music would go on until midnight which indeed it did with no reduction in volume. The next day we asked to see a manager but the meeting proved very unsatisfactory. The one thing we discovered was that the hotel usually only allocated our rooms to people attending the function because of the noise and disturbance. We had been allocated these rooms despite the management being fully aware of this problem. The hotel is not a cheap one and as paying guests we would certainly not expect to be allocated rooms subject to such significant disruption. Needless to say we will not be returning to this hotel

Booked a room in March for a two night stay and n September. Got a message day before we arrived to say they had a function at the hotel the next day. We were given a room directly above the ballroom with throbbing very loud music and strobe lighting coming through the curtains until midnight. The breakfast next morning was poor fruit not replenished and when l ordered toast was told there was toast already on the adjacent table ordered by another couple. The manager was sorry we didn’t like the music but said what did we expect in a hotel that had functions we had been informed the day before there was a function on. The room had no wardrobe just a little storeroom off the bedroom. I can honestly say that value for money rates extremely low and l would not stay there again. The young staff at breakfast on Sunday were lovely in complete contrast to the woman who served us the previous morning. At £420 for two nights bed and breakfast l would expect a much better room and without the awful racket we endured on Friday night

We have just finished our last meal at the Clifton Arms Hotel. The food and service is exceptional made even better by the friendly staff. The meals are so nice and the choice is very good. We had a side sea view and luckily the weather was very nice as well. The rooms are spotlessly clean and yet again the cleaning staff are lovely people.We have stopped in lots of hotels in the St Anne’s area but this hotel tops the lot and we will be back. A big thanks to Jill on reception yet again very friendly and helpful. We will recommend the CAH to all our friends. Thank you so much for wonderful 3 nights John and Lynette.

We had the most fantastic stay at the Clifton Arms hotel.The room was lovely and the food was exquisite at dinner and breakfast.We found the staff to be helpful and polite and can't wait for a return visit. We had a discrepancy with our bill which was sorted quickly and in a professional manner. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed the three night summer break that the hotel offered. Our room had lovely views and was nice and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and really made an effort with us and we could see that this was the case for the other guests as well which was nice to see. The food was excellent at breakfast and dinner and very consistent with plenty of choice. The weather was also good for most of our stay so we got to take advantage of the lovely terrace they have and even had the BBQ offering one night which was a real bonus and the live singer was great. We look forward to returning soon!

The Clifton Arms is a good-looking hotel and has a feel-good atmosphere. The decor and furnishings are lovely. The restaurant food just lets it down every time. Book in for a meal as a non-resident, and you will be very disappointed at the quality of your meal. For this you will of paid big money. We had 7 adults and 2 children for Sunday lunch. None of us enjoyed our meals. Only one had a glass of wine , everyone else a soft drink. No desert or coffee. £351. Please look for a good chef and employ her/him.

We decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay at the Clifton Arms having called in for lunch and coffee here on many occasions and been very impressed. We booked dinner, bed and breakfast staying in a Directors Double Room. The room was very clean, spacious and nicely furnished with a fabulous view over the green and the estuary. Unfortunately, our experience at dinner was disappointing. Because we were resident in the hotel and had pre-booked an evening meal, we expected to have a table reserved for us. This was not the case. We were informed that the restaurant is first come, first served. So had we walked in without a reservation, we would have had one of the better tables. We left feeling underwhelmed by the whole experience. The foyer of the hotel is a lovely place to sit and have a drink. Everyone is very helpful and friendly, but there was a lot of confusion over table numbers during our stay. There are no numbers on the tables, so several guests were having the wrong drinks taken over to them. Breakfast was a bit disorganised and service a bit hit and miss. We observed one guest who was left for quite a significant amount of time without his order being taken. This was despite many members of staff walking past him on several occasions. We would not discount staying at the Clifton again, but if we do, it would probably be on a room only basis.
