Two friends and I spent two nights at the inn on a visit to the Churchill Museum. The town was charming and the museum very well done. The beautiful restored Christopher Wren church from the London Blitz was awe inspiring as well. Local students served as tour guides and waiters and were very welcoming. The Inn itself was a step back in time and a walk through history. The grand Victorian furnishings and decor gave it a distinguished personality. The owners gave it a feeling of home. They are a young family with a new baby and a sweet and lovable dog and they made us feel completely at home. We enjoyed the dog’s company as we sat under the gazebo in the beautifully landscaped back yard. We relaxed in the rocking chairs and swing on the front porch. The Inn is close enough to the museum to walk, almost in sight of it. Special attention was given to pampering us with snacks and delicious breakfasts. We booked the English afternoon tea and enjoyed sandwiches, strawberry and cream with scones, truffles, lemon bars, cream puffs, and endless pots of Darjeeling. Our rooms were comfortable and supplied with everything we could possible need, from baskets full of snacks to any toiletry we might have forgotten to pack. Every possible effort was made to ensure that our stay was memorable. And it was!
