Ft. Lauderdale Beach, a VRI Resort

I arrived at the hotel on December 23, 2023. My first impression was a time capsule to the year 2005, I saw a very old hotel totally different from what I expected according to the evaluations in RCI and the photos. The staff when welcoming us was very friendly and even though we arrived at the hotel early (11 am) they assigned us a room. The problems started when upon entering the room we realized that it was much smaller than what we reserved. We reserved a room for 6 people which had to have two king size beds and one queen size bed. The panorama was bleak, we only had a king bed, a queen bed and an armchair bed, both the armchair bed and the queen bed were in the common living room which was super uncomfortable since you could not have both beds operational since they did not fit in the space. The situation got worse when we realized that there was only one shower, for 6 people only one shower is terrible since a lot of time is wasted. With a completely different room than the one I paid for, I went to the main inn to seek help since we made the reservation via RCI and therefore had to communicate directly with them. Being a Saturday, you had to call the RCI emergency number which works 24/7. The hotel, despite being an active member of RCI, did not have the RCI emergency telephone number, so despite the good will of the hotel staff, it was difficult for us to contact them. The problem was resolved with RCI where they admitted their mistake and we reached an agreement but I had to keep my stay at that hotel in that room. The problems continued, in the hotel they DO NOT provide cleaning service except for one day a week and the day they were supposed to do cleaning turned out to be a failure. They only replaced the toilet paper, organized the towels and nothing else, they did not make the beds, they did not sweep, they did not mop, definitely the worst cleaning service I have ever received in a hotel. Our first night was very bad, the quality of the pillows was horrible, the mattresses buried the springs in your back, whoever slept on the chair bed the next day could not cope with the back pain since the irons of the chair bed were buried on the back but the other person who slept in the living room also suffered, since at the slightest movement of the person in the bed chair all the springs made a very loud noise, in addition to the consequences of sleeping in the living room, for example the noise of the dishwasher all night. The wifi was not bad but it was not good either, it allowed messaging but under no circumstances could you have an online conference, the room was very clean which is a very positive aspect of the hotel. I will not return to this hotel again since it is very old, all the beds are terribly uncomfortable, terrible pillows, really the quality of a "beach resort" is not perceived anywhere, it does not even have chairs on the beach. A complete disappointment, they ruined our Christmas holidays.

Rooms are antiquated, but clean and quiet. We stayed for 5 nights, but did not use any of the hotels facility. Perfect for our needs as our family lives next door. Was not a vacation for us. Hotel served the purpose. The walls are paper thin though. Can be noisy .

Surprisingly we were allocated a penthouse suite with lock off and sea front view as preferred which accommodated all our needs

Very convenient location close to the beach and many restaurants. Our suite was large, clean and comfortable with a balcony. Would be happy to stay here again.

Great apart hotel, set back from the beach with plenty of parking . The apartments are large and well appointed, we had one with two bedrooms which was in effect two adjoining apartments linked together. The pool is fairly small, but wasn’t overcrowded and the beach is just 5 mins walk away. There are several bars, restaurants and sandwich bars on the street outside the hotel. The water taxi stop is about 10 mins walk from the hotel. It feels to be at the quiet end of Fort Lauderdale beach, which suited us as we were there during Spring Break

I was very disappointed when I check in I normally wash all dishes and cutlery in the dishwasher when arrive so I know they are clean. I could not because the first rack of the dishwasher was badly rusted in numerous areas, so they had to be all had washed which took a long time without having a dish rack. Sheets and towels had to be put on coach and chair cushions and towels on arms because the were very dirty. Could not walk on the floor bare feet without your feet turning black on the bottom of your feet. Lots of noise coming from the hall and other units, in particularly one of the nights I was kept awake until 4:00 am in the morning until I got an answer from the front desk asking them to shut the noise down from the condo across from me and the room next to me with the TV up full blast. Really, I don't think it would pass fire code seeing that there was no *****ing under doors and you could see through all sides and under the doors. If there was to be a fire or smoke in the hallway, it would come straight in. All Units need to be updated to the standards as other resorts are. The location is good, however the cost per night at $277.00 CA is not worth it.

I stayed in a studio room. The room had paper thin walls. I was able to hear everything and everyone in the room next to me. I felt like I had no privacy because they could hear me too. I can hear the guests walking around in flip flops, blowing their nose, the entire conversations, etc. the ceiling fan was broken and needed repairing and I saw a cockroach in the bathroom vanity!!! I was very uncomfortable after I saw the cockroach and could not sleep thinking there might be other rodents crawling around. The kitchen sink had a horrible smell coming from the drain. It smelled like something crawled there and died. The entire hotel needs to be updated, it is very out of date for the price. The pool area is way too small for the hotel. There are not enough chairs near the pool area for many people. The hot tub area is ok but it's on the 2nd floor making it hard for people with bad knees to go upstairs. I would not stay in this hotel ever again and I would not recommend it to anyone!

Good value for money. A little further from the action than excepted. About a 25 minute walk. But close to the beach. Nice that they have a pool and hottub and sauna. Just kinda like a normal hotel. They don’t have breakfast tho.

Had a wonderful 4 night stay here. Everything was smooth and easy. Perfect location, walking distance to everything you need ( Beach, restaurants, state park, mall, etc) We didn't need a car. Kudos to the staff, they were beyond accommodating and delightful.
