When we arrived in the afternoon, the owner was not present but Joey, the gardener, greeted us very pleasantly. The place is in a beautiful and bucolic setting, but: - The "suite" is a small, cramped cottage, especially the bedroom which is at most 6m2, just the space for the bed. The decor and furniture are really dated and could do with ‘refreshing’! - The bed linen is old, not matched, the mattress is not comfortable. - The bathroom has traces of mould and mildew and the bathrobes have seen better days. - When the manager came to see us, she told us that she had "upgraded" us to her most beautiful room (what must the others be like) but when we asked for a few tea bags or herbal tea she refused, saying that they did not give any (at 190 € per room we would expect a little more attention, especially as inexpensive as a guest tray when there is a kettle!) We had to ask for the shower oil capsules that were highlighted in a brochure. They expired in 2019, so we preferred to avoid using them... - There were flies in the sleeping area (ok we're in the countryside and it's Autumn but a good cleaning should take care of that) - The wifi signal was too feeble to allow you to connect to the internet, the TV works very badly and the the remote control did not work. - Finally, the icing on the cake: the water was cut off from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m., so it was impossible to wash, brush your teeth, flush the toilet, take medication or drink a simple glass of water. We were not informed of this cut, was it due to a technical problem or a pseudo ecological concern (that the host tells you orally and in writing in the "instructions of life" left prominently on the table which is an anthology of the guests' "duties". Their reading creates an authoritarian atmosphere, one has the feeling of receiving a moral lesson (and yet we are concerned about ecological issues.) In short, we had a very bad and thirsty night and left before the breakfast that was planned, preferring to go and have it at home (we live about fifteen kms away and this one-night getaway was supposed to celebrate our anniversary!) We will not repeat this experience. PS: after our departure we received a text message from the "manager" to whom we told about the water cut but as the water had come back at 8am this morning he told us that there had been no water cut! Not having water flowing out of a tap is not something you imagine. It is unpleasant not to be believed. I regret that I didn't read the other reviews before booking, as other travellers obviously shared our dissatisfaction. The ability to accept criticism and to question oneself would nevertheless make it possible to bring the reception conditions up to the level of the truly superb setting. A notre arrivée dans l'après-midi la propriétaire n'était pas présente mais Joey jardinier nous a accueillis avec une authentique gentillesse.
