I stayed here with my friend & cat for the night after getting off the ferry & it did the job perfectly. Could be seen as a little bit of a sketchy area at night but that’s not the hotel that’s outside of & we still felt comfortable to walk around to the car at night so it’s not dangerous. There was just a few drunk people around. Overall we had a good stay.

This time around, a little disappointment unfortunately. The hotel has had significant investment made into it which was sorely needed and it has improved a lot. As part of this all of the in room Electric Heaters have been replaced (this is a 550 room property, you can imagine the cost of doing this). There are no instructions on them, and they aren't intuitive at all. The one in our room simply did not work. The Maintenance Team looked and agreed. We could not be moved, there was no solution offered. Previously they had spare ones, these have not been replaced and there was no back up option. This was one of the coldest nights of the year. We tried to sleep, fully clothed, and could not.

I don’t like writing bad reviews but I have to for this one! The rooms have electric heating which you have to turn on when you go in which is fine but then it’s not a nice feeling to walk into a freezing hotel room in winter! Our room didn’t have hot water and as there is no phones in the rooms you have to go to the reception to report anything you need to. Staff was very polite to change our room as we were going to stay only a few hours to catch our ferry. They gave us room 664 which had hot water but the bed was just horrible, you can feel all the metals in your body, the carpet was sooo dirty we didn’t want to walk on it! I don’t know when was the last time it was hoovered and I’m sorry but the hallway was smelling like people have been peeing everywhere on the corridor!! Horrible smell. And avoid the small lift, it doesn’t work proper! It’s such a shame cause the hotel is in a great location but it’s too old and lacks love and care!

Staied a night in this hotel, was happy with everything considering the price I paied. Room was clean. Best part is location and a view, but, unfortunately my view was of a patking lot. Overall-good stay.

General cleanliness and repair of the hotel was below par. The rooms were also not very sound proofed so you can hear a lot of noise from inside and out of the building. Parking is £5 and wifi is additional unless in the communal areas.

Very good value, room wasn’t great basic, but matched price.

You cannot stay anywhere better than right in the heart of Folkestone's harbour seafront. It is an excellent Base for exploring. This is our 2nd visit and cannot wait for the next ❤️

The hotel was awful! Felt like a hostel, and that’s being harsh on a hostel!

This hotel is at the bargain basement end of the market and you get what you pay for. That said it offers great value in a central location right on the dockside. The basic room was en suite, clean, with a TV (not used) and WiFi included. We didn’t use any of the other facilities during our one night stay and we didn’t need to park at the hotel.

I enjoyed my stay, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I wasn't told I was in the basement, and would have preferred the option to know in advance. It was noisy at night, lots of door slamming, so this needs to be addressed. it would be great if there was some hebal tea in the room, and some bottled water.

My 5th stay at The Burstin and its another pleasant stay. Its a functional budget hotel so don't expect anymore than that.

Such a shame. It is located in a beautiful location and infront of the seaside but very very outdated and smelly like you go to a run down pub with all the drunkies !!
