Book somewhere else - please do not make the mistake we made. While the photos seem nice, the condition and cleanliness of the room is not a place you want to stay at. We arrived to the hotel at the time discussed and had to wait for 10 extra minutes while they told us “it is still being cleaned, we had 10 guys stay in all the rooms and they left it a mess.” While we understand some challenges with past people who stayed there, you do not want to know that minutes before entering. We entered the entryway which smelt very bad, made our way up and entered the room which was so hot the concierge had to take off his coat in the short time he showed us the room because he said “it is very hot” (which he was extremely nice and did his best with a clearly not well kept stay). We did our best to deal with it even with a quick need to leave for a reservation. We left the window open as the AC unit did not seem to work (yes, we had to try and use AC in winter because it was so hot). Before we left, we looked at the towels on the bed and there were ants crawling on them so we quickly asked them to exchange them which they did but it made us concerned with the rest of the stay and the bed’s cleanliness that the towels originally were on. After looking closer at the room, we noticed the bed had visible dirt, the bathroom had many broken parts (fan, flush of toilet, and no hand towels). We felt so dirty that we messaged them expressing that we wanted a refund for our 3 day stay before even sleeping the first night because we did not feel comfortable there. They acted like they would give the opportunity for a partial credit if someone booked it for the next two nights. Someone did book the room for a lower amount which they told us, we never received a refund and stopped responding after we requested the refund be paid. We filed a claim with our credit card and they denied everything. Very disappointing when a business does not hold its promises to its customers. It’s very beautiful from a distance, and we are so sad we didn’t feel comfortable staying. We appreciate Gonzalo’s communication.
