Hotel Das James is a delightful maritime hotel of the highest quality. The Loft Harbour rooms, in particular, are unique and offer a superb experience. The hotel features a wonderful wellness and spa area, along with a restaurant of exceptional quality. The breakfast buffet is indescribable in its excellence. Situated right by a yacht harbor, the hotel offers a beautiful walk along the marina and fjord, leading you to Flensburg. The staff is top-notch and exceptionally service-minded. The hotel is family- and pet-friendly, with a dedicated "spa area" for children. The spa and wellness treatments are also truly outstanding.

I loved everything about this place, The friendly welcome by not only the couple who runs the hotel but everyone who worked there. Our room was lovely with a nice balcony, roomy and a large bathroom. The bar is well stocked and make som great cocktails. The spa area is very vlean and the pool is well tempered. There is a nice selection of saunas and steambaths. I had two treatments and especially the signature massage by frank was very good. He was not only very skilled but also very pleasant. We ate in Das Grace and James Farmhouse both good and I can highly reccomend Das Grace. Breakfast has a large selection of various breakfast foods and seveal cooked on demand eggdishes. I can highly recomend the somewhat different take on Eggs Benedickt. Also do not cheat yourself from having a piece of cake in the afternoon. My only regret is that I didn't have room for a fill afternoon tea for fear of not being able to eat my dinner. We bumped in to the manageing couple on the street in Flensburg and was touchded by the heart warm way the reconized and greeted us. Thank you for a lovely weeekend - I would love to come back

Usually you should not write a review before you have checked out, as things can still happen before check-out. But boy is this hotel a gem! I went for a ‘surprise’ room so didn’t know before arrival, what I would get. I got a spacious and beautiful garden view room with a large balcony/terrace (contemporary and yet elegant interior design). The bar is great, the breakfast is fantastic, the SPA area is sublime, I am sure dinner will be great. I seriously can’t find a flaw, maybe just that on an occasion or two, the bar staff was chatting to each other a bit too long without serving the guest, but then again that is now really nip-picking as they were all super friendly. And for EUR 250,00 a night over the weekend incl. a 5-star breakfast the price is super acceptable (I travel a lot and pay on average more than EUR 500,00 per night so Das James is certainly not overpriced). And ooohhh yes, forgot to mention the stunning surroundings at the Fjord of Flensburg. Keep it up, Das James!!🙂🙏💪

This was our 2nd stop on our road trip. This was a lovely hotel in a converted warehouse/factory with lovely walks along the marina. The hotel was very busy but we were lucky enough they had one room left. The room was large and comfortable with a lounge area as well as a spacious bathroom. On the top floor is a spa and swimming pool which goes from inside to outside with lovely views. Unfortunately there were no vacant loungers but we did manage to have a swim. The dinner was disappointing, not what I was expecting from this grade of hotel. The buffet breakfast was good with lots of choices cold and hot. The staff were efficient and friendly enough. All in all I would love to stay here again but might miss out on the dinner and get a taxi into Flensberg where there are lots of good restaurants to choose from.

We had a lovely stay at James, a great hotel - but a bit far from the city centre. But to my surprise I now see that you choose guests based on political orientation. A danish elected party was kicked out from your hotel. It's not ok.

The hotel facilities are modern and nice. However I'm very disappointed in their service and communication. We had booked a dog-room stay and the hotel provided a dog bed for our puppy. We left the dog in the room for a an hour or so while having some cocktails in their bar. When we came back the dog had bit the dog bed to pieces unfortunately. Embarrassed we notified the front office staff the day after that the bed was destroyed and they said not to worry and these things can happen. 1 week later I get a letter by post (not email but actual snail post) stating that they charged by credit card 180 EUR for the dog bed. I write an email (yes I don't send post anymore) to the hotel explaining that their staff said it was fine and now you decide to charge me. I asked them to refund the money as the miscommunication is on their side, not mine. They refuse. After 4 emails they have now completely stopped answering my emails and just decided to ignore me. This is VERY DISAPPOINTING and actually UNACCEPTABLE. Own up to your mistake and refund me the money. This hotel claims to be on the high-end scale of customer service and satisfaction but ignores their customers? VERY VERY BAD.

Das James is a lovely hotel with a great location. The decor is beautiful and i loved that the hotel was divided in small areas that gave an intimate an cozy feel. The breakfast buffet was very nice. Other things disappointed me though. Most especially the food. It was boring and tasteless. The first night anuninteresting crab salat followed by a very average piece of chicken and a most strange dessert. The second night was a nice pumpkin soup, that you could have gotten in any cafe followed by a nice but in no way extraordinary piece of veal. The vegetarian option that my friend chose might as well have been From Knorr with Parmesan on top. A lunch one of the days I had a cesar salad. It came without the chicken. Apparently you should choose this as an extra but the waiter failed to ask if I would like the chicken. The result was romaine salat with dressing. Our friends ordered lunch in the pool area and waited over two hours for sandwiches, and when they came, it wasn’t what was ordered. They were told by the waiter “that she only has two arms”. So don’t go for the food! I liked the hamman experience a lot in the spa but my facial was very average. The service in the spa area was appaling. My treatment was over 30 min delayed and the information about this was non existant - so was the expected apology for the delay. The girl at the spa reception was unorganized and close to rude. I also greatly wonder why there were No spa slippers in your room and was told” we don’t do that anymore”. Most people didn’t bring any and had to go bare foot or in the own shoes to the spa. This is unhygienic and also really strange. I would at least have liked to have been asked about slippers at checkin and if was to save money I would have payed 5 euros to have slippers from the start. All in all: I had lots better spa experiences and I will choose somewhere else another time.

Nice, modern hotel, facing a nice sailboat marina. Unfortunately, it is located 4 km. from the city center; I'm convinced that the location is great in the summer, but on a very windy autumn evening, it is actually not at all pleasant. Rooms are modernly furnished and very spacious, beds are a bit soft but comfortable, and the bathrooms have high quality toiletries. Most of the staff is very kind and service minded, but a bit grumpy male person at the reception did not give the best first impression... The breakfast is fantastic with good variation: Here's everything you ask for - and then some. I spend more than 30 nights a year on different hotels, but never on 5 stars hotels, so I was a bit excited to find out, if it is worth the extra: Das James had some facilities that we unfortunately didn't have time to use, but still, I'm sure that this very expensive hotel it is NOT worth the extra amount, there is much more value for money on some of the hotels in Flensburg city.
