The Farmhouse at Fincham

We didn't even manage a night at this superb location due to a potential break-in emergency at home, but we did get to experience the professional, friendly staff and wonderful restaurant (genuinely the best chicken I've tasted) before we had to suddenly depart. The chalet we stayed in was clean and really well appointed, we were delighted. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the understanding of the staff at our situation means I will recommend the Farmhouse at Fincham to everybody. But what I find sets this place aside is that in spite of our sudden departure we were only charged for one night (I only realised today that we'd been refunded the remainder). We will without any shadow of a doubt return.

We visited the Farmhouse at Fincham for a buffet lunch as part of our annual Porsche Club Spring Drive. We had 27 cars and 51 members with us and we need to ensure lunch was completed in 90minutes due to a tightly scheduled day. We were thrilled that everything was perfectly executed and our event went without a hitch. The customer service from first contact to on the day management was flawless. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was perfect. The hayloft was a great function space. Our members were very impressed by both the venue and the high quality of food. A really great find for us as a venue and one that we will certainly return to time and again as a club.

The food here is excellent. Really delicious and well presented. The service good and the beer well kept. I had crispy squid and then a burger. Simple but very good. Unfortunately the rooms are not in the same league, being extremely basic. Breakfast is very good, even if service is a little slow. However overall reasonable value at the price.

What a great hotel! Visited for a wedding. Food was great quality and rooms clean and comfortable. Beds were really comfortable, often when I travel I have issues with hotel beds, not here which was great! Staff were very attentive and friendly. If I am in the area again I will stay.

Jekyll and Hyde. Restaurant, grounds, staff, location brilliant. Cannot fault. Rooms and cleanliness, the worst I've ever stayed in. Genuinely dirty, hairs and ***** everywhere. Shower and bath dirty. Mirrors not been cleaned. Bedding and pillows dirty. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. Was genuinely shocked at the level of cleanliness. I stayed for 2 nights and after my first night, a cleaner let herself in at 9am saying I need to check out!? Not even a knock. All in all, my advice is to go for dinner; the food is fantastic and the hotel staff are lovely. But go home after....

Service and food leaves a lot to be desired, service was slow and food was nothing special despite being quite expensive. Poor vegan options. The bar staff were friendly. Won't be rushing here again anytime soon, there are more welcoming places nearby.

Superb Service, excellent food, greatest chips ever. Lovely restaurant area, light, airy and welcoming. Our host Kristine Lebede was very friendly, very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The other hostess was also very friendly and helpful. A minor hiccup cup on the food order was not only rectified instantly but without asking and without charge. Can’t wait to return, and we will.

I have stayed a few times over the last few months. Really nice rooms and quality food in the evening but most of all the staff are friendly, attentive and nothing is to much trouble. In particular Kristine and Shelia made a real fuss of me and my colleagues on the three or four times we have visited. We will be staying here over the next few months and we have also recommended the Fincham to some of other colleagues.

Was expecting a luxurious stay at the Farmhouse but was quite disappointed upon arrival. Having paid £150 for the night we were met with a mouldy bathroom, broken shower, misaligned interior doors that wouldn’t shut along with the front door which had gaps in allowing in bugs and day light. Not what I would expect from somewhere like this. Wishing we had read the trustpilot reviews before hand and not trusted the fancy website photos! We also used the restaurant during our stay, again expecting good things but was left waiting over 50 minutes for our dinner, no drinks menu was provided and the food was ok. Breakfast portions the following morning were also very small and nothing special. We did want to leave this feedback when we checked out but was greeted by no one on the reception and told to chuck the keys on the side and to have a nice day but someone serving breakfast.. Overall quite disappointing especially as we were super exciting about our weekend away, this did put abit of a downer on things. We were woken up at 6 am by some kind of alarm sounding and later on by the neighbouring rooms TV, very thin walls..! Only plus side is that dogs were allowed and ample parking, the grounds surrounding the lodges were well kept.
