We have just returned from Filey having stayed at Athol House. What a fabulous choice that was, perfectly placed for a short walk in ino town . The guest house was fabulous and we were in a superb room. Breakfast was excellent too. We are already thinking about returning in 2026. Thank you Sam and Diane.

Where to begin, Sam and Diane make a big effort to welcome their guests. The front of the hotel is small but artistically designed with a feature hedge that apparently takes 3 hours to cut. Hanging baskets adorn the outside entrance with many more plants and flowers in the rear garden. First impressions are important and you can see every effort has been made in this very clean and homely environment A flight of stairs lead you up to the rooms. I can only comment on our room. Very well laid out with ample wardrobe space, a very comfortable double bed. Bathroom with shower and toilet with a lot of thought put into its layout. Clean towels, shampoo and conditioner plus all the things you may have in your bathroom at home. In the bedroom are mirrors for those of us who are vain. A vanity with drawers, kettle, bottled water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Milk is delivered fresh at 4 pm. The dining area is decorated to a high standard and exceptionally clean. We only had breakfasts which you order the evening before on a pre-printed sheet with tick boxes and offer 2 timed sittings. The rooms have names and the breakfast menu has your room name on it too. When you are seated at your table there is a place name with your room name on it, nothing can possibly be confusing. A great choice of cereals, juices tea or coffee and your breakfast is served as requested along with extra toast and a choice of jams and marmalade. The breakfasts are very well cooked and presented on the plate( not just thrown on). Very tasty, high quality products which reflect the high standards set by the owners. This hotel is amazing, the time effort and dedication of Sam and Diane to their guests shines through and makes you feel special. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay in Filey

Our third visit, we're like boomerangs as we keep coming back! Sam & Diane are the perfect hosts; and as others have said their accommodation is spotless. A great breakfast is also guaranteed and sets you up for the day. Highly recommended.

We’ve stayed at 5* hotels that can’t match this B&B! The cleanliness, breakfasts, hospitality and location is first class. The hosts just can’t do enough to make your stay a memorable one . Our first visit but not the last! We can highly recommend Athol House .

Our 5th stay and the Victoria room is superb A good size shower space with a quality shower and easy to use.little touches fresh flowers in breakfast room. Fresh milk at your door afternoon. The rooms Prepared perfect after your day out. The food at breakfast and choices 5 star Nothing is too much trouble and Diane and Sam are so helpfull and realy make it the perfect stay in filey., top tip ring direct and early.
