Lagarfell Studios

Wonderful studio with kitchenette. It looked like it had been renovated recently as all the furniture, furnishings, floors and wall paint looked new and in good shape. A pod coffee maker too! Easy to check in and out. Very close to downtown Egilsstadir.

Spacious room with small kitchen. Everything we needed for our stay. Lovely sitting area in the back to relax at the end of the evening.

This is a very nice place given the limited lodging options when traveling in the remote parts of Iceland. We tried to be at the property when the staff ( singular) was available during the check in time. I suggest the check in instructions could be improved to avoid any language barriers. 1. For example, guests can be told the number of parking spaces in front of each building so that they can keep a safe distance when parking their vehicles. The parking spaces are not marked and it took a bit of a struggle to get that message across. I don’t have any hard feelings about it, but trying be helpful to the property owners and the guests. 2. There was no reception desk and guests were supposed to ring a bell on an inside wall to get the assistance. This could have been communicated as part of the check in instructions. When we reached at the property we didn’t know what to do, but eventually figured it out. Anyways I have given the property 5 stars because it deserves it.

The owner came out and greeted us personally, and was extremely informative and accommodating. (I think we just happened to catch him doing some yardwork.) The room was very clean and well stocked with dishes, and toiletries. Could not have been more pleased, especially with having a nice patio outback with lots of shade! Would love to have stayed here more than one night

Nice and comfortable room. The hotel also provides good machine made coffee as compared to others hotels I've stayed.

The room we had was modern,comfortable,with a nice terrace,had everything one would need in the kitchen and bathroom.You could even borrow from the hallway some chargers for different countries outlets,which is nice.We had great communication,there is a coffee shop for breakfast and gas station to get one going across the road.All together a positive experience.

The room was very nice. The area is also nice and has many lovely local sights. Unless you know your schedule exactly this place will be a problem. It was our second day in Iceland and we had stopped to look at many beautiful sights. There was not a local phone number or email for this apar**ent. We unfortunately arrived much later than we anticipated at ten pm. There was a sticky note in the hallway with a phone number for the ON SITE manager or owner. She was awake, obviously eating dinner and not asleep. She proceeded to berate us for a very long time telling us how angry she was that we were so late and that our credit card hadn't worked We could not even tell her that we had tried to find contact information to let them know we were delayed without success. She also criticized the booking engine we used which was actually the only way to book her place through the US. Despite giving her a different card and apologizing profusely she would not let it go. What made me unhappy was that she was not even willing to listen to our explanation and feedback that having the check in END times and contact information listed would be a great help. I felt humiliated and my husband was really upset. Tough second day. Worst part is I'm a doctor and my husband is an airline pilot. We travel a LOT and recommend places to our travel buddies all the time. Truly a missed opportunity for this place.

The property is quite nice once we found it. ******* google map directions sent us to the wrong town and we needed help from a townsperson to find it otherwise we never would have found it. The host was very gracious and helpful once we got there.
