On arrival the staff were great, welcoming and attentive.
Once we got into our room it all went down hill as the room was filthy, most definitely hadn’t been cleaned properly and there was still the remains of the last guest, dirty spoons, open packaging to the last guests property and also a small bottle of what looked like perfume.
Out side the room, someone had dumped their dirty cutlery, roughly 4 sets of knives and forks, which were covered in dried food.
The reception staff did immediately allocate us another room, which was cleaner but still not as clean as I’d expect from a Hilton hotel???
The cutlery that was left outside our first allocated room remained in that spot for the next 5hrs and no one had attempted to clean this mess up….. shocking and disgusting.
The pool was not clean, leaves floating around in the pool and the tiles around the top of the pool were covered in limescale and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for some time….. The water was cloudy and the chlorine was strong, to the point where our eyes were affected within minutes.
However, the staff in the wellness area were lovely, attentive and friendly.
The hot tub was exactly as it says “HOT”, to the point where my son said it was burning hot and on feeling it for myself I’d have to agree…. Far too hot, especially when there were kids going in it and immediately getting straight back out. We were very disappointed with this hotel, especially when just a few weeks ago we stayed in the Hilton at London Excel and it was worlds apart.
A hotel chain should have the same business model and service across all its establishments and it seems that Hilton have totally allowed the Dartford Double Tree to fall well below the usual standard of a Hilton Hotel…. What a shame.
