St Michaels Resort, Falmouth

Amazing spa hotel with amazing amenities and super close to the beach. The only thing lacking was the quality of breakfast, restaurants and a few service aspects. Other than that really enjoyed the stay here and would love to stay here again. The spa was absolutely amazing and pools were the best feature.

List is long where this hotel can improve. 1. There is an extra cost for everything ..Even for simple hot drinks like cappuccino and espresso in the breakfast. Even before we started the b'fast, the staff came with the bill and asked us to pay. What was the point of the pre-auth that was taken at the time of check in??? 2. Hot tub and swimming pool shown in the picture (during the booking path) are NOT included in the charges but extra charges which you find out when you reach the hotel. 3. Free swimming pool has restricted time for kids from 9-12 and and couple of hours in the evening. Cannot enjoy pool with kids with restricted times. 4. Poor breakfast service. Everything is cost cutting. NO Big plates in the buffet. No monitoring by staff to refill milk or utensils. Plus more issues.... 5. We booked large luxury category king room with sun deck. Nothing like the picture. Disappointed as no view and infact no privacy too. 6. Untrained staff at the reception. Staff is polite but do no even know half of the information about the resort. When checked out , I asked if the pre-auth would fall automatically and she did not even know what Pre-Auth is. Again all cost cutting by not hiring experienced professionals. 7. No one answers the call at the reception. Tried 3 times as A/C in room was making noise and few bugs were seen on the bed. No courtesy to reply back to the call.

Hotel Restaurant Just stayed a night in what should have been a great experience but was unfortunately ruined by the complete incompetence of the hotels restaurants. Waited 50 minutes for breakfast which never arrived having waited 20 minutes in the restaurant the night before to even be asked if we like something to drink. When my starter finally arrived which was tomato and buffalo mozzarella, the mozzarella was missing. When I raised this it was recified but the chef looked bemusec by my complaint even though he'd failed to plate 50% of the meal. Breakfast room rumour was the main chef was off and someone was filling in. My advice would be check the kitchen roster before booking. Such a shame as the hotel is stunning with topnotch rooms plus the bar staff were excellent!

beautiful hotel, the grounds are so relaxing, and so many different areas to sit. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Having pool and gym facilities on site was great. 30 second walk and you are on the beach.
