Overnight with a friend on the 13th of February, have tried to resolved this issue via email with Joanna but due to no response I’m leaving a review, in hope others read and avoid the hotel! - when we first arrived my friend asked for a skinny latte and the young member of staff behind the bar made a rude facial expression at my friend and said “what’s the difference?” She then went to find out if they had any whole milk alternatives, then returned to say they had none. We were under the impression that a skinny latte was just a standard coffee order. - we then had our afternoon tea which was part of our spa package - there were items missing (halloumi fries) and no alternatives were offered. - we were then made late to our spa appointment as it took two young members of staff 25 minutes to wrap our scones in some tin foil. - when we were in for our afternoon tea it was clear to us that staff were untrained, as a young member of staff was very overwhelmed and shaking when an older member of staff asked him to seat a couple. The couple then had to seat themselves and get their own menus. - After our spa treatments we went to use the pool, but we were put off as there was a dog wandering around the changing rooms and this just seemed very unhygienic. - We then had booked the grill room for 7:30pm, however when we arrived we were told our booth wasn’t ready yet and to come back later. We came back around 20 minutes later and they had given our booth away, which meant we had to wait even longer to be seated. - we ordered cocktails at the bar, and the only member of staff behind the bar told us that he was not trained to make cocktails and we would have to wait. This shocked us, as cocktails were on the drinks menu, and it was such a busy evening. We then had to wait over 20 minutes for an espresso martini and a French martini. - The main course, braised ox cheek, was lovely but finished in around 2 mouthfuls. Definitely gave us wedding food vibes - not something we would expect to pay £18.50 for. - As we were still hungry we ordered a cheeseboard which took 40 minutes to arrive. - This morning, we went for breakfast at 9:30am and lots of items were missing (butter, potato scones, ketchup) and we were told they had none to put out as breakfast was almost done. - we then decided we’d have some cereal as breakfast didn’t really satisfy us, however, members of staff had taken that away around 9:50am (10 minutes before breakfast is supposed to end) - The room was not worth the price we were charged, completely outdated and in need of a refurb. We upgraded to a junior suite and I found it to be one of the worst hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. If we hadn’t had a drink at the bar before checking in, we would have checked straight back out and drove home. We are both teachers and feel we were falsely advertised on both our spa package and overnight stay. It did not meet what we were promised, and we have only been offered a £30 spa treatment in ret
