Casa do Rio Charm Suites

The hotel is a a great location on a nice little plaza, near the entry to town, and along the Camino. The rooftop deck is nice for evening relaxing and/or morning coffee. The bed is comfortable and the attached Terrace are a great amenity. However, the bathroom lacks any level of privacy. Both the shower and toilet room are glass, with lighting that actually highlights a person showering or on the toilet, which may the room extremely awkward for actual use. There was also a motion activated light that makes use of the entry area really problematic.

The location was excellent, by the river, opposite the square and with views up to Saint Clare Monastery and the aqueduct. Our suite (3rd floor) was well appointed, spacious, had the bath in the room behind a screen and the WC in a separate room. There was also a small balcony which was lovely in the evenings. Next door to our suite was the breakfast room which had a balcony overlooking the river, bridge, monastery and aqueduct. This had the sun on it during the morning and day and was an excellent place to sit and relax. The breakfast was the usual Portuguese breakfast, perfectly adequate and comprised fruit, basic cereals and bread/cakes/pastries/cheese/ham. Cooked eggs were available to order. As the other rooms were on different floors, no-one else used the adjacent balcony so it was very secluded. The parking was a bit of an issue as it was all on street or in a pay for use underground car park within 200 metres. Sometimes it was a struggle to find somewhere close but we always did, eventually. You can always pull up outside to unload your luggage. Access was by pin number in a keypad on the front door which was the same for the room door. Make sure you get this before you arrive or you will not get access. Rooms are available from 14.00. The hosts were very friendly and attentive, although not on site. We would definitely stay here again if returning to the area.

Ficámos duas noites, na suíte Sabedoria, que tem uma vista incrível para o rio. O quarto é excelente e tem todas as comodidades. A funcionária do pequeno-almoço é de uma simpatia inexcedível, e o pequeno-almoço é muito bom. Bom ponto de partida para a exploração de Vila do Conde, permitindo andar a pé. O estacionamento, embora escasso, não é difícil. O único contra é ausência de Wi-Fi, que deve ser urgentemente melhorada. A voltar.

Hotel ideal: diseño, decoración, cuidado, situación inmejorable, tamaño de la habitación, limpieza, trato recibido por el personal del establecimiento, parking en las proximidades. Pero tratar de conciliar el sueño se hizo tarea imposible. Es como si desaparecieran las ventanas. Entre el ruido de los coches por el adoquinado y la gente que estaba en la calle... no sé que es peor. El caso es que no pudimos pegar ojo en toda la noche. Es una pena porque por el resto, el hotel me pareció inmejorable.
