Hotel in zona Ludgerusbrunnen, Essen

Wow. What a trip that was to the Essen Spiel convention. And what an excellent hotel we have had the luck of booking a room into. Everything was top notch. We were given a room on the second floor, right across the elevator, in room 226. That was indeed super convenient, since for soundproofing, the windows were always shut, and I'm a smoker, so it made my outside trip to the smoking area easy. Everything in the room was where it should be. Plenty of sockets to plug our electronics in, a desk to put our convention stuff on and make our plans for the following day. Water pressure was spot on in the shower, all-in-one soap was naturally provided in a dispenser and filled daily. Room cleaning was done super meticulously in the morning and the cleaning people were nice and attentive when we happened to stumble upon them. All the staff we ran across were super nice and kind, even though we were always bugging them with annoying and trivial matters. The evening shift at the bar and reception really tried their best to satisfy our bothering demands. Hats off to them for putting up with us. I feel that we may have indeed tested their patience's limits. Despite all our best - or worst - but unintended in honesty - efforts to piss them off, they didn't even lose their smile. Great job, everyone! The cherry on top was the hotel's decision to open up a big room full of tables and chairs for the Spiel attendees to pass the night once the exhibition day was over. Really thoughtful and it's one of those small details that win people over. I'm looking forward to returning to the convention next year, and I'm sure I will be booking a room in this hotel alongside my plane and convention tickets. Keep it up, GHOTEL!

Ich bin eine gebürtige Essenerin und kenne deshalb das Hotel schon ewig. Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof und mitten in der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind je nach Kategorie geräumig. Ich finde es toll, das man die Fenster öffnen kann. Auch die Betten sind bequem. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis, dort gibt es allerdings Verbesserungspotential. Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung

Die Zimmer sind gut eingerichtet auch mal etwas weg vom typischen Zimmer. Mein Zimmer hatte separate WC und Dusche, sehr angenehm. kleines Manco , ein vergessener Gegendstand 4 Stunden nach dem CA, war angeblich nicht im Zimmer auffindbar, was schade ist. So klein war er nicht. Betten auch sehr bequem, alles in allem sehrvgutes Hotel.

Had a great stay in Moxy Essen from 11/06/2023 – 14/06/2023. I was travelling around the Rhine Ruhr region with my friend (and we both have Marriott Gold elite status from staying in a Marriott for university). This hotel was in a great location right next to the HBF station in Essen and was clean and modern. The bar had a good vibe and we had free drinks on arrival. We used points for this stay, and the way that the points worked out meant that we had 2 different bookings over 3 nights, but this was not an issue and we managed to get the same room for the duration of our stay (we even got a bonus welcome drink for it)! I’m probably not going to do the hotel justice here, but it was a well laid out and stylish hotel with decent sized rooms. We had a twin room to share and the staff made extra effort so that we were on the quieter side of the building. We initially checked into the hotel at approximately 2pm, but decided to spend the afternoon in Wuppertal. When we arrived back on the first night. I had a shower, and there was no shampoo. No big deal, but I ended up going down to reception to ask for some. The man couldn’t find any shampoo, but about half an hour later, some appeared, I think he probably brought I from the shop as it wasn’t in the normal bright pink Moxy bottle, but it was really nice of him to make the effort. That day, the weather hit 32 degrees and whilst we were waiting for the shampoo, we tried to work out how the air conditioning worked. Between me and my friend that I was travelling with, we couldn’t work it out, so we asked the employee. However, between the 3 of us and Google we could not work it out. Anyway, I think we were the only people in the hotel that night as this was approximately midnight local time, and I think we went in every room in the corridor. To try and find one with working air con. All of them were empty! We eventually found one that wasn’t like a sauna and packed our stuff and moved. The employee was genuinely the nicest and most helpful employee I think I have ever seen in a hotel, very apologetic, but also very sociable. It was really nice to meet him as he was so happy to help. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name, but he had a ponytail I think and said he was Turkish. I think he will know who we are when he reads this! I saw him off duty in the bar the next night and thanked him. We even got 2 free breakfasts out of this!! The breakfast was good, though probably not worth the price we were told when we booked (I think it was about 15 euros but can’t remember as I have stayed in about 5 hotels in the past week and they have all rolled into one a bit). There was a few cooked items (Bacon & Scrambled Egg) and a few cold/ cereal items, but not loads. I probably wouldn’t recommend getting breakfast as all the Moxys allow a free coffee/ juice in the morning and a pastry, which is a nice touch. La reception è chiusa alle 22:00. Non ho visto questo messaggio a Trip.com. Quando ho aspettato, il capo dell'hotel era pronto a partire. Abbiamo visto che siamo venuti a casa e siamo stati distrutti. Abbiamo perso il conto, così è stato riuscito a vivere dietro. La stanza è molto piccola, ma il letto e la TV sono grandi. L'altra parte è un appartamento studentesco. È chiaro che guardano nella loro stanza, quindi si consiglia di tirare le finestre. La principale svantaggio è che il suono della porta è molto cattivo. Come senza porte, la porta della stanza accanto è chiusa, anche la TV e l'orologio sono sentiti chiaramente. Il suono della gente che si lava il corridoio di mattina è come se fosse direttamente nella mia stanza, il mostro La testa è molto magra, molto inconveniente, il letto è buono, lo spazio di spaziatura è un po' piccolo, le persone più alte dovrebbero essere più magre. Il servizio è buono quando si lascia la casa (forse anche perché si cambia una persona)

I stayed here for a month whilst working in Essen. Receptionist friendly helpful and spoke excellent English. I was upgraded to an executive room, which was dated but clean and spacious and included a fridge. I was thankful for the air conditioning as the weather was hot at the time of my stay but would have preferred a sheet instead of the thick quilt. Breakfast was the standard offering but a rip off at €21 - you get a far better and cheaper breakfast at similar hotels. There’s a bar and an evening menu but this wasn’t always open however when it was the barman was great to have a chat with and get some local knowledge. There’s power sockets by the bedsides and WiFi was good. Location is good being just a 5 min walk to the underwhelming and disappointing city centre. It’s also only a 5 min walk to the metro which offers great value and for a fee of €9, gets you anywhere, although this was during a summer promotion. As a resident you get access to a gym across the road. The house keeping was at times quite poor with surfaces not wiped down. Overall a convenient place to stay but in need of modernisation which I think is a possibility in the future.

Situazione 8st molto centrale, specialmente se si desiderava di raggiungere la piazza Viehhofer al Nord Open Air🙂🍺🤘 Camere pulite, letti molto comodi. Se avessi prenotato di nuovo 😁

Tutto funzionava come doveva. Personale piacevole, grande stanza, grande posizione, grande valore. Il processo di check-in era delizioso, l'internet poteva essere un po' meglio, e il check-out era un brindisi. Non ho avuto la possibilità di controllare le loro offerte alimentari, ma ho sentito delle buone cose da coloro che lo hanno fatto.

Molto pulite, camere belle e comode mobili, bagno confortevole con doccia, personale bello, un grande plus per parcheggio gratuito in garage, posizione vicino ai negozi, colazione può essere mangiato vicino alla porta in una bella pasticceria
