Dar Tafouyte

I usually don’t write bad reviews, but this place earned every letter in this one. This “hotel” doesn’t live up to even the lowest expectations. Staff is lazy, inattentive and impolite, everything smells, trash and dirt in the garden, lots of things are broken and not repaired. Rooms are damp and smelly. Their “luxury” desert camp is a mess. Dirty tents and even the “staff” had dirty clothes on. We arrived at sunset in 41 degrees, but noone even offered us water. The staff sat and drank tea for hours. We had to nag them to serve us water. No activities, not even pillows on the metal wired chairs. At 21.00 there was no sign of dinner. The tents are furnished in a “random fashion”, some torn carpets, nothing nomad nor luxurious about it, the design is just cheap and garish. These people are a disgrace to the beautiful local culture. We left.

Amazing Dar Tafouyte! We stayed three nights at Dar Tafouyte and loved every minute of it. The accommodation is located in a safe, quiet area and is wonderfully homely and cozy. The accommodation is tastefully decorated with small and large personal unique details. The pool was wonderful to have access to during the hot hot days, our children 10 and 12 years old could not get enough of it. In addition to the accommodation itself, you could not wish for a better host than Brahim and his team. He is friendly, helpful, proactive and attentive. I cannot recommend this accommodation enough. We will be back 🙏🌞

This was the highlight of our 2-week travels in Morocco. We wanted to do desert camping on our own instead of a tour rushing you from Marrakech to Merzouga so I book this hotel as a starting point and from there onwards they took care of everything. The staff and management is from Merzouga village so they know everything in and out and do actually go out of your way to ensure all aspects. I asked questions about camping at the time of booking this hotel and I was provided complete details and pricing so we took CTM bus from Ouarzazate to Merzouga and we were picked up from the Merzouga bus station, even though that bus arrives at 9PM. They communicated through the app to check on your arrival time and meals in advance, upon arrival we were provided 2 different room choices to pick the one we like and dinner was ready also in 20-25 mins. Next morning I paid cash for the camping and we were told that whenever we like to go to the desert they will take us, as generally they take guests at 4PM but in our case we left for camel ride to the campsite around 12PM or so. Prior to that I asked if a quad trip is possible and they arranged for 1 in just 15 mins. Everything from camp to meals, sandboarding and all other activities were very good and well thought off. After a night in our luxury tent we took a 4x4 ride back to Dar Tafouyte where our luggage was kept in the same room from the day before and we took our taxi to Fez which was also arranged through them. If you are thinking of desert camping and authentic experience just arrange for you to get to Merzouga on your own and these guys will take care of the rest. 5-star and simply outstanding. There is nothing negative about the place or the experience. Their prices, I found are a lot more competitive then others who provide tour services. They property is also well spread out and there is a pool.

Very nice experience Ibrahim Osman and his team were very helpful and friendly, I highly recommend, we spent 2 nights in the ..BIVOUAC DAR TAFOUYTE AND AUBERGE ..The rooms were comfortable and the meals (breakfast and dinner) were very generous and good . Nous devions rester 3 nuits et nous y sommes restés 4 nuits . Dar Tafouyte est un havre de paix . Les chambres sont joliment décorées et la piscine très belle . Le personnel est très serviable et le patron très sympathique. Il est arrangeant et m’ a fait un très beau prix pour la 4 eme nuit . Il aime voir que nous sommes contents et fait tout pour . Nous avions pris 1 nuit en Bivouac avec eux . Le patron a su satisfaire nos attentes et nous a fait rêver . Nous avions pris 1 repas chez eux et il était excellent. Cet hôtel est la cerise sur le gâteau . Famille avec 3 enfants heureux.

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour avec nos enfants de 2, 4 et 6 ans, le patron et son équipe sont très chaleureux, ils sont toujours là pour répondre à nos questions, nos besoins, etc. La nourriture est délicieuse et ils essaient le plus possible de varier, le petit déjeuner et le dîner est inclus mais il est aussi possible d'y manger le déjeuner à la demande et aussi on a pu avoir de bons fruits en collation (toujours à la demande). Les chambres sont propres, la femme de ménage n'est pas passé durant notre séjour de 3 jours mais ce n'est qu'un détail. L'expédition dans les bivouac avec la promenade en dromadaire est géniale et très bien réalisable avec les enfants ! Je recommande aussi la sortie en quad !!! 😍 La piscine est un must !! Il était aussi possible pour nous d'avoir la vue sur notre chambre lorsque nous étions à la piscine, ce qui nous a permis de faire faire la sieste aux enfants à la climatisation sans nous priver du beau temps ! Nous avons aussi adoré aller marcher dans le petit village autour de la riad, les gens sont très sympathique et les enfants ont beaucoup aimé jouer avec les enfants du coin (ils ont beaucoup aimé qu'on leur donne des suçons !!!).
