Just returned from a two-night stay at the Manor House. The Positives: - Location:- A beautiful stately home set in well-maintained grounds along the banks of Lower Lough Erne. - The Room:- provided stunning views over the lough, two spacious and comfortable beds, and a charming sitting area overlooking the water. - Service:- Special thanks to the friendly and helpful bartenders at the Watergate Bar (unfortunately, didn't catch their names). They crafted an excellent mojito and espresso martini on the first night. Thank you! **The Negatives:** - The room lacked robes and slippers. Although we were told these could be requested, a 4-star hotel should have such amenities readily available without the need to ask, reflecting a lack of attention to detail. - The ham and cheese sandwich ordered at the Cellar Bar was supposed to have a hint of mustard, but it was heavily smothered in mustard, making it nearly inedible, this was quite disappointing. - The Chicken Caesar Salad x 2 ordered the second night included tiny pieces of chewy bacon and chicken that had clearly not been freshly cooked, as indicated by its reheated and curled appearance. - The poached eggs at breakfast were overcooked, with no runny yolk. -The pastries were disappointing, particularly the croissants, which lacked flavor entirely. - The coffee tasted weak and unappealing. Upon checking the receptionist informed us that you can request a stronger brew if preferred, but that information came a bit too late. When raising these issues at reception upon checking out, the receptionist seemed rather dismissive and brushed them aside. Considering the amount spent on both food and drinks, this is simply unacceptable. By making a few adjustments and constructively incorporating customer feedback, the Manor House has the potential to become a wonderful place to stay, unwind, and enjoy delicious food. Our family had been considering coming here over the Christmas period specifically for Christmas dinner since we are staying in the area, but the quality of food is a bit of a concern. We may now opt for the Lough Erne Resort and Spa instead.
