Having to stay somewhere to visit family and the usual places we stay were unavailable, we thought of Eltham. Our son likes Eltham and he and his partner go there often for coffee. The photos on another site looked nice so we booked. We get there and there is a big sign, “Up for lease or re-development “. The receptionist was friendly and we were given a room at the back. The pool area didn’t look enticing and the filter? kept making loud noises. The room was basic but everything we needed. Could have done with a little more cleaning as window sills had dead bugs on them and they were there for all 4 days. Husband looked at BBQ area, sadly very neglected. We did have a table and two chairs outside. One chair disappeared and cobwebs covered the underside of the other chair and table. There is nothing within walking distance to get a drink or something decent to eat.

Stayed here for a local appointment. The room was ok. Shower had great pressure. But the room was really cold. The air conditioner was old and past it's date, so not able to warm the room sufficiently. Without the heated blankets this would get zero stars right now.
