Hotel a 3 stelle a Elkhart

As a long-standing IHG loyalty club member, I was happy to find a property in the town I needed, Elkhart, Indiana, for a one-night stay returning home from a family funeral in Washington, DC. The check-in experience was pleasant enough. Once in our room, we dropped luggage and headed out to get something to eat. When we returned, we discovered that of the four pillows on the king-size bed, all four were as flat as pancakes and offered little to no cushioning. I went to the front desk and asked for an additional pillow. A nice young man stated he was alone and busy checking in guests, but he would bring one to our room, which he did. The one he brought us was not much better, but it was only one night, so we did not complain. It must have been Friday Drinking Night, as we were awakened multiple times between 1 to 4 AM to the sound of inebriated guests in the hallways. Apparently, the majority of the rooms were occupied by some sort of construction crew, who had decided that Friday night was the night to party. The loud voices combine with the paper thin walls made sleep extremely difficult. The next morning we awoke to discover...Surprise!!!... there was no hot water in the room. We allowed the water to run for over 10 minutes, hoping it would warm up, but it was cold showers for both of us....Whoops!!!! Only two bath towels and they were thinner than the toilet tissue. We air-dried next to the wall heater. ...Next surprise...standing there with ice-cold, wet hair we discovered there was no hair dryer in the room. Oh well, it was only one night. At 7 AM we headed down to the hot breakfast, advertised on their website from 6:30-9:30 AM, to eat and be on our way... ...Another surprise...the staff advised us that breakfast would not be served until 7:30 AM...no explanation or apology. At that point we had enough and left the key card on the counter and went to our car to head home (Note: check out time is advertised as 11 AM). Once on the road, I went to my IHG profile to review my folio and check out....More surprises...the staff had already checked us out and now I did not have access to a copy of my folio to review. I called and requested a copy and was told one was being emailed immediately. Two hours later when I still did not have a copy, I called again and was informed that ”Our computers are so old, we have problems trying to email from them. This will have to wait for a manager to email you a copy later today.” This was by far the WORST experience I have ever had at an IHG property. I contemplated giving this property a ”terrible” rating, but I have been generous only because of the nice young man who checked us in and brought the flat pillow. I strongly recommend you bypass this property and drive a bit further to South Bend. This is truly a ”Nightmare on Cassopolis Street.”

This hotel is situated among a whole slew of other hotels and for it price point is an excellent value. While the decor is dated (think 80's country) the rooms are clea and the beds are comfortable. The rooms have the usual amenities , mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. Daily housekeeping was provided which is rare in this day and age. Complimentary breakfast was also provided and had the usual fare, sausage, eggs, waffles, cereal, etc. There were a few small issues, there were no plugs for the sink or bathtub and the exhaust fan did not work resulting in a very steamy bathroom. The remote for the TV would not turn the TV on or off but you could still change the channels and adjust the volume. Another complaint, and this is for most hotels in general not just this one, is that there is no list of channels available for the TV. Wether it is Comcast, Infinity, Direct TV, etc, you have to scroll through the on screen guide only to find the channel you've chosen is not available to watch. One sad thing I noted was that the TV was bolted down to the dresser it was sitting on. Don't know if this is a commentary of the state of things where you can't trust your clientelle to not steal things in the room. Overall this is a nicely maintained budget hotel and I would certainly consider staying here again.

Inizieremo dicendo che ho avuto grandi speranze per questo posto perché è una Sheraton. Ecco l'accordo. 1. Il letto era molto comodo, l'A/C era potente e la camera era più piacevole e tranquilla. 2. Le mutandine erano quasi piatti, con il supporto zero. 3. La cortina di doccia sembrava di mio figlio mentre era al college con i compagni di camera ... in gialla/arancia in fondo. Inaccettabile per un bel hotel. 4. Il colazione non era incluso e costoso. Ho provato il toast di avvocato, che era circa il peggiore che abbia mai avuto. L'avvocato non era fresco e non sapeva come l'avvocato. Un tipo di preservativo è stato usato e ha una strana textura. 5. Sono andato in palestra per un allenamento e circa 8 minuti in piedi, i miei polmoni si sono chiusi. Questo è quando ho notato un forte odore di melanzane. Sono allergico a questo, quindi non è stato buono. Il lobby aveva anche un forte odore di melanzane. Non sono sicuro se ci fossero danni all'acqua o il sistema HVAC, ma è diventato più forte ogni volta che sono andato al lobby. 6. Una cosa minore, ma il modo in cui hanno organizzato il mobilio lobby, non c'è un bagno chiaro al desk front o agli ascensori. Devi nasconderti intorno al mobilio. 7. E'difficile trovare. Devi passare attraverso un altro parcheggio alberghiero per arrivare a esso. Con tutte le altre opzioni nella zona, mi sono trasferito e non mi sono mai fermato qui. Hanno detto che è stato aperto nel 2018, ma ho avuto l'impressione che fosse un altro hotel che è stato acquistato e lavato in bianco.

Per fortuna ho soggiornato in questo hotel invece del Ghetto Hampton Inn proprio dietro. Se sei un professionista che cerca riposo e relax senza la ghettizzazione, questo hotel fa per te! Il personale era eccezionale e attento.

Great place to stay! Our room was really clean, the bed was super comfortable plus the bathroom is so spacious with an awesome shower. Will definitely stay again and we loved the cafe on the first floor called ”Relish” where we had breakfast before we left.

We had spent 4 nights here during August 2023. There were several hotels in the area, so we had to look for parking. We actually got to the hotel early, by 1 night, and they were able to accommodate us. The front desk service was very helpful and upgraded us based on status. The only problem we had, was that we were supposed to have housekeeping services on Saturday and no one came. When I reported it to the front desk, by late afternoon, they still hadn't come. Since we were checking out on Sunday morning, I just got what I needed and took it back to the room. Overall, the place was clean, price was right, we were satisfied with our room, and we would return.

Had low reviews and recent complaints of bugs in the room. But with limited options available elsewhere we decided to give it a try in hopes things were resolved. To make a long story short. The toilet didn't work, place smells like an ash tray, tiles are loose around jacuzzi, stains all over furniture, ceiling, and walls, TV intermittently worked, didn't honor advertised pricing, breakfast was not ideal and very limited. The resolutions they gave to the issues were a dirty plunger to try and unclog the toilet ourselves (all we did was pee in it) and a business card to file complaints.

This was a fairly nice place to stay for the price, but it is in need of updating. The toilet was very low to the floor. There were no stoppers in the drain of the sink or tub. The upholstery on the chair was filthy and worn. We had to wipe out the drawers before we could unpack for our three night stay. There was hair on and in the tub and on the bathroom floor and the carpet was old and dirty. The linens were clean and the beds comfortable. Otherwise we might not have stayed.

In generale, un buon soggiorno. Raccomanderò questo hotel. Facile check-in e check-out. Camera confortevole. Grandi letti e cuscini. Così molti uscite. Mi piacerebbe, tuttavia, nessun porta USB di caricamento, quindi portare i convertitori. A/C e il riscaldatore sono vecchio scuola sotto il stile della finestra, anche se c'è un termostat sul muro. strano, ma funziona bene. Attento al contatore della camera da bagno. Non ci ho pensato, ma usano il biancheria sul contatore. Ottimo per l'igiene e la pulizia, ma ho messo una suora su un punto umido e l'ho rovinata. La porta non si chiude completamente, naturalmente, la doccia non si sta scorrendo bene, ma l'acqua si sta riscaldando e ha una buona pressione. La televisione ha le scelte tipiche di Marriott, ma si sta tagliando costantemente. Questo ha reso difficile seguire ciò che era successo e è stato piuttosto frustrante. Il cellulare nella camera da letto è separato dal muro al taglio. Questioni minori, è un hotel molto bello.
