Elk Rapids Lakeshore Inn

Stay was great. We were escaping the ice storm up north so having a hot shower and warm beds were everything.

This property started out okay until we took a shower and noticed the water would not drain out, then the next night the toilet would not flush and when you tried to flush the sink would gurgle and water would come up out of the shower floor drain. The layout wasn't the best, but it was workable. They also didn't really have room to put your suitcase or clothing.

Cost effective, clean, and cute! This was such a cute quaint stay! We came up north to ski at Shanty/Schuss and were looking or a cost-effective place to crash for the night and this was the perfect spot! We were warmly greeted by name at 9:30pm when we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable and close to a cute downtown where we could grab coffee and breakfast. We highly recommend staying here!

Clean, upgraded, well maintained, good service

The owner was present when I arrived and took my credit card. She never gave me a receipt. I was exhausted from the long drive and construction. I noticed later that night that the place was filthy. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, there was dirty carpet, mold on the shower curtains, dead bugs in the corners, and in the window opening, noisy. The next day, I worked at an art event and taught a class. Upon returning to the room, it was not cleaned up, trash still present, and no one emptied trash, nor made the bed. the frig was dripping near the freezer part a whole lot of water. Later that night, around 11 pm, the toilet began making loud bubbling noises and the water went up and down, and the drain in the shower emitted an odor. The woman who owned the place informed me on Friday upon arrival, that she was not around much. Dirty laundry, sheets, and bedding were piled up in a couple of bins outside. The place is atrocious. I went into the office Saturday after working all day, to try to talk to the owner. The young lady at the desk indicated the owner was not there and she did not know when she would return. I asked for a printed receipt and she gave one to me. $177.00 a night for this disaster. I indicated I wanted to talk to the owner and the young lady stated she would let her know and have her call me. The owner never called me. I want a full refund. There were no other rooms available in the area or I would have left. This will be dispute

Convenience and cuteness! A lovely and convenient spot, very cozy. So nice to have a quick path to the beach.
