Garten Hotel

I visited the hotel yesterday and the experience was such a letdown. The hotel is very tiny not like the pictures make it seem, the staff if completely disorganized, I had booked a room the morning of the day I was checking in but they did not have my reservation and I was not on the list to enter the property. When I checked in to the hotel the larger sized man was completely unprofessional and behaved in a very unpleasant way. He treated us as a bother and did not explain the amenities of the hotel, when escorting us to the room no one bothered to assist my pregnant wife with her bags, no explaining on room features, broken ac, and I was not given a room key. The guy who escorted us to the room said he would bring the key, more than 20 mins passed and no key I went to pick it up and when I went to try the key it was the wrong one. I went to the office again and explained I was given the wrong key and just given a look of contempt and no offer of apology or explanation just looking for the key and given to me in a hurry. At this point I complained to the manager who happened to be there and she was courteous and apologized for that persons behavior. She offered my wife and I a complementary drink and tried to appease the situation. I really think the 5 star service is not there and a lot of customer service training is needed. There are other nearby hotels with far better service and similar amenities and attributes. Hopefully the could change this. Also they need more pool chairs they only had 3 when we were there which is not enough at all.

Garten is my favorite hotel in El Salvador, the views, the beach, the food and drinks! They help with everything and make sure you’re having the best time truly a gem. Love having Pina coladas in the pool, or catching the sunset at the stunning beach with black sand below.

First time to El Salvador , Garten Hotel is a must to stay at ! The views , the gorgeous room, the food , the cocktails , and all importantly the Manager Bo and staff go out of their way to ensure all aspects of the stay are 5 star ! I would also try the massage , one of the best I have had ! Thanks Garten will be back soon

Amazing place to stay in el zonte. I took my wife and two young daughters here for a week during November. We decided to stay at the villas to give us some extra room. The villas do not have an ocean view but that doesn’t take too much away from the experience. We spent days exploring the area and would chill out at the hotels pool for great drinks and ocean views. Had breakfast, lunch and dinner at PROA several times during the stay all the meals were excellent. They offer room and drink service directly to the villas which was awesome after a long day with the kids and wanting to enjoy a cocktail or dinner by our private pool. If it was just my wife and I we would have chosen the main hotel to feel more connected to the ocean experience. The staff was lovely and the neighborhood is extremely safe and friendly. Great places to grab ceviche or a beer. For those traveling to zonte for the first time I was blown away the Uber was available in this region of El Salvador. I took it 15-20 times during our week here to grab food or hit the supermarket. Prices on Uber are super cheap compared to the us and the drivers are great.

Great hotel, great service, and perfect for a relaxing break. We would return. The rooms are new and nicely appointed, and very comfortable. Hotel is right on the black sand beach and accessed by a flight of stairs. Pool and dining area have amazing views out to the ocean. There is a well equipped gym and frequent yoga classes on-site. Staff can help organize day trips and activities to nearby sights. Bi-lingual staff with excellent English. Friendly and accommodating staff provide great service; Denise, Jairo, Albert and all made sure our requests were met, we were taken care of poolside and at meals, AND followed up to make sure were were happy. Food at the restaurant was very good, and daily breakfast included is delicious. Helpful if you have a car to access the surroundings, but the hotel can help you arrange transportation (taxi/uber/service). Secure parking and guard at gate. Proximity to a few other hotels and you can walk to nearby restaurants via beach or roads during the day.

My most favorite stay of my trip. I was very apprehensive coming to the Country of El Salvador, I’ve only ever left the USA to go to Toronto, Canada for music events and have never been to Central America. I do not really speak Spanish and I’ve read all kinds of negative things about crime etc in this country but their current President has invested a lot into making the country safe. I never once felt at risk and the local people were very friendly. We stayed at 4 places on this trip and The Garten Hotel is by far my favorite! The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and well equipped. The air conditioning works flawlessly and has reliable internet, and a mini bar. Staff is very accessible and responsive to requests. They always greeted us with a smile and were even able to accommodate unusual requests. I got sunburned while living in the infinity pool, by the bar and needed white vinegar. (It completely takes the fire out). They complied with my request easily for no charge. Alexander bartender extraordinaire allowed me to have Sofi Tukker playing at the area by the pool (which was the perfect temperature and very clean) for like 3 hours! I think he played every song plus every collabs and remixes! I seriously am thinking about renting the whole place for my DJ friends at a future date because the views are phenomenal. I would love to record a set here! There is beach access stairs and you can get to other beaches up the coast with a very affordable Uber ride away. Surfing is very popular here and they do offer lessons and also have massage services available but I did not partake of those activities. The food was good and breakfast was included.
