Bonalba Golf Resort

Had a week golfing in Spain, we were staying in nearby Alicante. We had this course booked through our golf agents. The course itself had some great holes that unfortunately were let down by slow, poor greens. In fact the first green was being rebuilt which nobody told us about, which meant we played to a very small very crap temporary green. If they could sort the greens out this could be a course worth playing

Have just returned from a 9 day stay which was booked through On The Beach . This is a very impressive looking hotel at the end of a Cul-de-sac within a quiet residential area. A large entrance entering into a grand reception with glass windows over looking an entertainment area and swimming pool . We had booked a deluxe trip room which we found very disappointing. This deluxe room smelt of smoke , sweat and noise coming from next door balconies . No kettle, cups or hair dryer. 3 single beds ,wardrobe, 1 chair and a tv . When I complained at the reception I was told a deluxe room has carpet ! We were offered an alternative but decide to up grade to an apartment which was far better on the top floor .The room was cleaned everyday and all areas of the hotel were clean and tidy . It clearly depends on who you speak to on reception as for the service or information you receive. Apart from an odd occasion all the staff were pleasant and helpful. Down the curve stairs you will find the bar , restaurant and cafeteria which serves the standard continental breakfast, fruits, pastries and a poor attempt at a self service Full English . We personally didn’t eat at the restaurant but did hear from a number of guests that it was hit and miss . The swimming pool area is very nice lots of sun beds and table tennis .The day time entertainment is enthusiastic with pool gym and various games if you want to take part . We did watch a couple of Evening shows but are predominantly Spanish so somewhat hard to follow. The hotel is 20 mins taxi (€20) from the beach and 25 mins (€25) away from Alicante . The hotel bus leaves every morning at 11 o’clock but you must book the night before and there is a charge €10 pp . Bonalba Golf and spar is excellent and only is 200y away if want a round or just to relax . There is also a number of small restaurants and a couple of local bars 10mins walk which we tried and most were excellent. I highly recommend the Loft restaurant, excellent staff and fabulous food.

We went there on our "little" pre honeymoon trip after a week trip with our Outlaws family.The girls on the front desk were so helpfull and wanted to do something special for us when we arrived. When we went up to our room it was rose pattles from the door to the bed with chocolate on the bed as well❤ And champanie, and we got a romantic getaway spa treatments as well 🥰 But we dont speak spanice and the hotel staff didnt speak english it was a little down fall and hard to order something couse they didnt understand us. I orderd fruts but only green grapes and banana,when it arrived there was melon and pinapple as well. I was not happy couse my husband is highly allergic to pinapples,so i needed to call again and ask them to come and get the fruts and bring only the grapes and banana. The bar manager came with it him self after couple of minutes BUT it was purple grapes and banana. At this time i lost my apitite couse i didnt want to complain again so i just didnt eat it.

Hola, estuvimos recientemente pasando algunas horas y salimos muy decepcionados. El precio es absolutamente desorbitado comparado con cualquier piscina de la zona, 16 euros por persona a lo que se suma 6 euros por hamaca que con bastante probabilidad estará al sol, ya que las sombrillas están en muy malas condiciones. El agua está muy turbia, a pesar de tener kilos de cloro, el olor es insoportable. Los bordes de la piscina están sucios, el suelo lleno de tierra, el tobogán cerrado desde las dos, las duchas apenas funcionan y los aseos casi impracticables. Mejor buscar otras opciones públicas como la piscina de Busot o Sella.

Al llegar y deshacer las maletas nos dimos cuenta que la limpieza de la habitación dejaba mucho que desear ( había muchísimo polvo, exagerado) , cuando bajamos a cenar lo pusimos en conocimiento de las chicas de recepción, nos dijeron que solo había una limpiadora en el hotel y era complicado , pero que lo haría a la mañana siguiente , nos ofrecieron otra habitación pero al estar en la planta de recepción era más ruidosa y además habíamos dejado la ropa colocada en los armarios por lo que no nos apetecía volver a hacer maletas y colocar en otra habitación para un fin de semana que íbamos a estar . La sorpresa fue que nunca limpiaron ni al día siguiente ni al otro . Ya no nos quejamos más porque creo que un error lo puede tener cualquiera , pero cuando se comunica y no se corrige … es dejadez y poca profesionalidad . Las piscinas muy bien , mi hijo se lo pasó genial. El chico que lleva el parking y las maletas ( Miguel Ángel) es un encanto y muy atento.

Trato muy irrespetuoso por parte de los empleados sobre todo de recepción, las personas amables solo Miguel el del transfer y los animadores, la habitación que nos dieron 324 no regulaba el agua, salia tan caliente que quemaba o directamente muy fría tenemos 2 niñas menores de 5 años era imposible ducharlas, no nos daban solución, ya al tercer día nos cambian a una habitación muy ruidosa en el primer piso 138 que creemos que estaba debajo de los carros de la limpieza por qué no paraban de mover cosas, a la cual al segundo día se le daña la cisterna sobre las 11pm y nos dice la empleada de recepción de muy mala manera que no puede solucionarlo y que hay que esperar al cuando le de la gana al técnico pasar al día siguiente encima perdonándome la vida y hablándo de muy mala formas cuando le hemos explicado el problema con la mejor actitud, cuando en un hotel de supuestas 4 estrellas superior debería tener personal para emergencias. Es como ya pagaron aguanten y lárguense, una vergüenza.
