Hotel in zona Av del Libertador, El Calafate

Quando sono arrivato a El Calafate ho avuto un problema importante perdendo nel taxi uno zaino con i documenti. Martin (il titolare) e il suo staff, sono stati oltre due ore con me per aiutarmi a ritrovare (con successo) lo zaino, portandomi in giro per tutta la città e chiamando tutta la città. Mi hanno fatto sentire a casa e ho ricevuto una attenzione unica. Questa attenzione ai clienti si vede nel come l'albergo è gestito: sempre attenti e gentili, veramente una esperienza stupenda. Consigliatissimo, viva Martin e viva il Kosten Aike

Beautiful clean and modern rooms, finished to perfection! The receptionists were very helpful with everything I.e early check in, booking tours, airport taxi’s and general advice Also in a fantastic location. 15 minute walk to a Laguna and 10 minute walk into the main town. Highly recommend this place to anyone - couples, families or groups! Exactly what we needed for a few days here ☺️

La stanza è ben fatta. È disponibile immediatamente un sacco di acqua calda (a differenza di molti hotel). La stanza era piuttosto calda quando siamo arrivati, ma la hanno regolata quando abbiamo chiesto la ricezione. Se vuoi dormire con le finestre aperte, prendi una stanza ancora numerosa (202, 204...) che dovrebbe essere più tranquilla. Buon colazione con la scelta di uova, bacon, frutta, cereali, ecc. Il menu del ristorante era un po' limitato, ma ci sono molti ristoranti entro 10 minuti a piedi sulla strada principale. Parcheggio facile in strada presso l'hotel. Alcuni dipendenti parlano solo spagnolo, ma abbiamo trovato qualcuno che parlava inglese o usava Google tradurre, quindi non ha avuto alcun problema.

Molto buon hotel, pulito, silenzioso e molto bene situato a 1 1/2 quadri della strada principale. Il servizio Wi-Fi funziona molto bene anche nella camera. Offre colazione, anche se non molto variabile, non ti offrono nemmeno una marmellata di Calafat che è il tipico del luogo e vogliono venderlo in ogni parte.Non possiede ristorante per pranzo o cena, ma se il servizio di carne per qualche escursione che a Questa data Noviembre/2023 costa $ 4000. Le camere sono spaziose e impeccabili, con letti eccellenti, buona pressione acqua nel doccia, molto pulite e con frigo. Qualcosa che inquieterà un po' è che il riscaldamento è super forte, quindi a volte soffoca, ma se tocca giorni piacevoli, ma si risolve aprendo un po' per ventilare. Non ha ascensore, quindi se si tocca la camera al primo piano, devono salire le valigie per le scale. Durante tutto il giorno si può avere acqua calda nel salone del colazione, sistema di autoservizio. Conta parcheggio. Il trattamento del personale è piuttosto freddo, anche se non è sconcertato. Mi sembra un bel hotel, ritornerò.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Nice room with balcony. The staff was extremely accommodating. I am a psychotherapist and needed a private space at one point during my stay to have a session with a client who was in crisis. They were able to provide me that space and were quite sympathetic. It was easily walkable to town each day, and we had no problem arranging a tour to take us to the glacier. For an extra charge, the hotel was able to provide us a very nice lunch for the time that we were at the glacier. We dined in the restaurant for dinner two of the nights, and both experiences were wonderful. The food was top-notch for dinner, and the cocktails were also superb! The breakfast each morning, which I believe was included, was absolutely delicious! There were a lot of healthy options provided. I would also like to highly recommend the medical facility that was quite close to the hotel, TMSALUD. I had an issue with my knee and got in quickly to have a consult with Dr. Gimenez, who was INCREDIBLE! Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel not only for the accommodations, but for location to all the attractions nearby.

This hotel isn’t awful, but it’s too far outside the center of El Calafate. It’s a 40 minute walk to the center, and the free shuttle the hotel provides does not run at convenient times. We had to get a taxi every time we wanted to go into town. We saw plenty of nice hotels in the center of El Calafate that would have been better. As far as our room, it was very hot and stuffy I think because of the light coming through the large windows. We had the air conditioning cranked up the whole time to make the temperature bearable. The room had a nice view of Lago Argentino. I recommend they put blackout curtains on the windows because it’s hard to block out the light when you’re trying to go to sleep. As others have mentioned, the walls are thin so you hear everything going on in other rooms. The breakfast was decent, although it would have been nice if they provided a milk alternative (almond, soy, etc.) as I don’t drink regular milk. Other hotels we stayed at in the Patagonia area provided milk alternatives. The hotel provides boxed lunches for a fee. We did this on two days where we had all day activities planned. The boxed lunches were good! We had a very disappointing experience when we tried to pre book a taxi for the day of our departure. We inquired at the front desk the night before to see if we could book a taxi for 7am the following morning to take us to the bus station. The guy at the front desk told us we didn’t need to book a taxi, we could just come to the front desk at 6:45am the following morning and ask them to call a taxi and it would be there by 7am. We took his word for it and unfortunately that is not what happened. We went to the front desk at 6:45am and they called a taxi, but it didn’t arrive for an hour which caused us to almost miss our bus. There was a different guy working the front desk in the morning and he told us that taxis are very busy in the morning, which is not what the guy had told us the night before. We were very angry about the situation because it could have been avoided if they had pre booked the taxi for us as requested. Overall, I recommend you give this hotel a miss and book something in the center of El Calafate.

I am seeing a lot of negative reviews and that compelled me to share my experience. My paperwork reads the Xelena as a 4 star hotel. We booked a lakeview room and when we checked in, it was at the ground level. A jogging/bike path was in front and a patch of lawn with access to the spa was in front of the picture window. I didn't like it and asked to be moved. I also wonder if the heater was broken as the room was hot and the window would not stay open. We got moved to a room on the 4th floor, same level as the reception. We still have a view of the lake, just with some tree branches in front. I like our bathroom. I like the stone and everything about it. I like there are a few places to hang our towels. I like the big closet. The furniture is sp**** but comfortable for us. The pillows are great. There are two double beds but maintenence converted them to a King like on a cruises cruiseship. Unlike other Argentinian hotels where a bellhop walks us to our room and shows us how to use the tech, Xelena didn't have that and we needed help with the heater. Our 2nd room had a newer AC/heater and it was easier to use. No problem with the auto blinds. Overall, a nice experience. I enjoyed our included breakfast. I like our coffee in the room as I enjoy the view and the quiet before going to the buffet. We also appreciate the complimentary shuttle to town.
