Best Western Santee Lodge

Absolutely NO!!!! I stayed here trusting the best western brand. From immediately after we checked in until our early departure nothing but red flags. We attempted to stay here thinking we didn’t need a whole lot of frills this trip because we had a busy schedule. There were ants to the point of having to brush them off my water bottle as we were bringing our stuff in . After we got settled I went to move my bag and two large roaches fell off it. Called the front desk who offered to put me on the second floor because “ground floor is easier to access for roaches” *** at this point it’s 1am amd kids are tired I requested to be able to cancel the rest of our stay without penalty. I was told the GM approved that but would not issue any rewards points for the inconvenience. Disappointed but whatever. After that my card was still charged and no one could tell mem anything kind of played hot potatoe with me until I called corporate. GM never called or conveyed any apology for charging my card or is having to move but he did supposedly respond to my customer care ticket. Bottom line Don’t stay

We had looked at places downtown San Diego and either the prices were too high or they just didn't look very safe, I mean who wants to vacation in a ghetto? So we drove into Santee, where we'd never been before. What a lovely town! We almost always stay at Best Western too and are we ever glad we did.

We were on a trip where we had business locally. It was easy to access and relax until early morning when we departed

Staff was friendly and accommodating, room was spacious, had table and 2 chairs to allow us to do business and eat, beds comfortable, everything in room worked, breakfast was good (eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, toast, pastries), be careful exiting parking lot, view of oncoming traffic partially obstructed by a bush and cars are fast on that street, plenty of places to eat in the area

My daughter had a softball tournament in San Marcos & El Cajon. Staff was super courteous and accommodating. At our initial contact, I shared if we can have a room change since there weren’t any elevators and we didn’t want to disturb other occupants with the sounds of going up & down the stairs with my daughter’s softball bag. I believe Ms. Tina was her name- she was able to change our rooms to the first floor. Thank you Ms. Tina again.

Hotel staff made our stay very pleasant and accommodated us with friendly and professional staff. Continental breakfast was a nice treat. The hotel facility and grounds were clean and well maintained. We look forward to our next stay!

The hotel was clean, the service was great, but the pricing left a bit to be desired but I understand. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area. I stayed here for a business trip and was good with the location, quality and accommodations.

The Good and Bad. The good: Numerous restaurants (walking distance). Very close (1/2 mile) to the 67 & 52 freeways. 1 1/2 miles to the 8 freeway. Safe area Decent set-up for breakfast. Usual cereals, waffle maker, eggs and sausage. Our suite was very large Ample parking. The bad: Even though the room was clean, the top comforter had blood stains from the past. They were not dirty but old and should have been retired rather than to continue using old sheets. The tub was slippery.
