There’s not a lot of places to stay in Beverly so it was convenient to our friends and that is why we booked there. I knew it was a 2 star and I knew it would be noisy on a Saturday night and unfortunately every area in Edmonton, other than the downtown core, is full of homeless people and it’s shabby everywhere. We were able to see our car.
Inside the hotel and our room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great! Lots of pressure and space and hot water. The young lady who checked us in was very nice. They’ve tried to get used furniture and kept some very old pieces too. Plus badges sewn on holes on bedding and special washcloths for makeup or dirt. So an A for recycling ♻️ Also a great looking and very popular Chinese smorgasbord adjoining the hotel. We had other plans so didn’t eat there.
Now the bad…
The $200 deposit was funny because everything is so old or stained already, but whatever. The breakfast was basic, and would have been ok, if one man in particular hadn’t loaded three platefuls, including a dozen boiled eggs and vanished upstairs with it all, leaving nothing for us or people who came in just after us. Never seen greed like that in all my life. Plus the coffee was half strength. It was terrible. The TV never did work. We managed to watch the Roku, but there’s not enough plugs to keep the fridge plugged in. The other plugs were also a little sketchy. No usbs. The cold water tap kept running. There was only a shampoo/conditioner.
