Great location for the caverns. Perfect for kids. Basic hotel but very clean and friendly staff that was very accomodating

If you are looking for a decent motel near Carlsbad Caverns at a reasonable price then this hotel is a good option. Its conveniently located near the entrance to the park.
This motel is on the older side. The aircondioner was struggling to keep the room cool and the refrigerator took awhile to cool down. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
If you want a good breakfast this probably is not for you. Breakfast consist of apples and oranges, muffins, cereal, milk, coffee, orange juice, and apple juice.
There is a small grocery store and souvenir shop located accross the street.
Didnt go to the pool but they have a water slide and decent size pool area.

The room was clean but the front office staff is rude. Breakfast was muffins, cereal, coffee, and orange juice. The pool area is okay. It needs to be maintained a little better. It did not look like it gets cleaned very often.

Water slide was cool however it was only open from 1 to 7 pm, and even then the lifeguard would leave for an hour and close it down. may actually only be open for 2-3 hours per day.

Booked a king bed, ended up with 2 double beds, the curtains were 3 inches too short lacked privacy, the outside light lit up the room nicely, the dead bolt on door was messed up, extremely hard to operate, no internet, 2 bottles of shampoo, no conditioner. Advised to go to store acoss the street which really lacked everything. Would advise staying in carlsbad, a bigger and better assortment of everything, only 15 minutes away.

It is in a great spot and was convenient for our trip. It is not a new building and has very low showers(i am a tall person). The joining rooms was a great addition to our stay.
We moved 1 bed so that our infant wouldn't fall out at night. Thats when we realized they had not cleand under the beds for at least 7 months. We found a purchase slip that was dated 10/03/2023. Thats why the bad review for cleanlieness.
There is only 1 restaurant nearby. Opens at 8am and closes at 3pm.

Pro: The room was clean and the location was great for visiting the Carlsbad Caverns.
Con: There wasn’t anything to do around the property. We had to drive to Carlsbad for food. The breakfast here was super basic (muffins, cereal, fruit). The towels were a bit thin.

After a very long drive the White's City Cavern Inn was a wonderful sight to see! Even better was the wonderful lady behind the desk---Valerie! What a delight she is!!!!!! The pool was an absolute blessing. We took full advantage of that refreshing respite! We enjoyed the fountain backdrop of the water park for the kids! How thoughtful to have something for the little ones!
