Superb! A lovely new hotel with sustainable focus at it’s core. The team were exceptional! Brilliantly knowledgeable about the hotel and its environmental impact (or zero impact should I say!) they were so friendly and knowledgeable about the food too - which was also exceptional. They need to make one of these hotels in every city!! I’ll definitely stay again.

Loverly to stay in a new hotel. If you care about the environment and the harm we do then this is hotel is a good choice. Running carbon neutral, trapping energy, using the sun and running only on electricity. The staff are very attentive and willing to help in any way. Answering all manor of questions about the hotel, explaining there ethics, where they source all the local produce and pointing out all the recycled and reclaimed items that surround you. Making for an enjoyable and interesting stay....

Great stay - brand new hotel with sustainability at its core. The experience was new and exciting with a thought provoking message. Every detail was carefully considered and the team were delightful. I will definitely stay here when im next in Exeter!

After hearing that a new Carbon Neutral passive Haus style hotel was opening up in Exeter we jumped at the chance to celebrate our birthdays at the Voco Zeal Hotel. The electric charging points in the large carpark proved it was on the right track. Entering the reception the two women at the desk welcomed us with big smiles and a speedy check in. We were then told about the hotel's Eco provenance . Once given our treat of a Devon Dodger, a cream tea biscuit, we headed up to our room on the second floor. The first thing we searched out was the hot drinks machine on each floor filled with hot drinks and also a facility to get cold filtered water. In each room there is a glass carafe for collecting water along with two glasses. First impressions for me were the size of the bed, the quality of the bedding, the thickness of the fluffy white towels in the bathroom and the style of furniture in the room. The room was amazingly clean and smelled so fresh. The new hotel did not scrimp on furniture and bedding quality as everything looked designer and luxurious. The super king sized bed was so comfy and the white satin striped quilt cover housed the thick warm luxury quilt. I have never had a better night sleep anywhere! By the way I am not in any way affiliated with IHG or this hotel. The fact I am raving about it is purely my own observation and taste for quality. The shower was not a power shower however it was very good and the Eco hair and body soap gave a good lather and smelled nice. No need to bring your own shampoo to contaminate the water ways. We ate dinner there on Friday night and of course asked for fish and chips and peas. The cod tasted lovely and fresh, I left a large part of my batter from the fish, but that is purely because I get indigestion from fried food. We also had breakfast included in our stay and we had a choice of a buffet style breakfast with pastries and cereals with cheeses and meats and fruits and nuts. We chose yoghurt with cereals and nuts and then an omelette with mushrooms and spinach and cheese. They were all hot and tasty and we were happy with it all. We left refreshed, well fed and ready to sing the Voco Zeal Eco Hotel's praises.
