Grand Beach Resort Hotel

Our stay was uncomfortable due to when we first arrived. We had previously stayed at this hotel and it was wonderful. This time, we immediately noticed the lack of care to cleanliness in the hallway with dirt, crumbs, water bottle caps on the hallway floor. Upon getting into our room (in the evening) we had a lot of ants all over the bathroom floor. There was something sticky on the floor and clearly it had been overlooked and not moped or cleaned up. We called and the staff came to clean it up. Then we noticed the refrigerator still had Chinese food in it from a previous guest. We asked for a trash bag to take it out and throw it away on our own. As I pulled the sheets back, I noticed they had not been changed from the previous guests. There was dried blood and bodily fluids on the sheets. I let them know immediately and they came to the room to put clean sheets on the bed. The next sheets were clean but I had to wait about 30 mins to get to bed. The patio table had (probably still has) a nasty coffee drink with mold and cigarette buds sitting on it. We let the staff know and they never picked it up. After all of this, we both slept terrible for the 3 nights we were there because we knew that our room had not been cleaned and there was a lack of care. When we let the staff know, they made excuses and told us they could not discount our room because we booked through *******. They offered us snacks and drinks from their little store. All we wanted was a clean room.

The room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the water. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special.

Room was nice, bed was comfy. Liked frig, micro and coffee pot but coffee choice was awful. Went down to lobby for pod coffee that was good. Pool was nice but jacuzzi ladder was like a boat ladder with narrow slats, straight down and the last step down into water was a doozy! Accident waiting to happen! Shower hose was hooked up inches away from water fountain and short hose. Yuck! Lots of kids and people in pool area. Counted 40. Didn't go back next day. Food left on tables. Food in drinking fountain. Parking areas were very narrow. Probably good for price we paid @$118.00 for families but we will not be returning. We are 70 yrs. old. Boxed breakfasts included were ok. Good for kids. We went on a Fri and Sat night in Feb. Disappointed in our pool trip.

I loved my stay! The room was clean. The hotel was full but I never shared the elevator with anyone. I appreciated that the buildings were connected by a skywalk so I didn’t freeze (February) on my way to the immaculate pool and hot tub. The staff was courteous and helpful. I even sat out on the room’s beautiful balcony for a few minutes (again, it was February in Northern Michigan)!

The property was great accept for the dried blood droplets on the inside of my shower curtain and the leaking sink faucet.

Wonderful facility directly on the beach on Grand Traverse Bay. Thomas at the front desk greeted me warmly and spent time inquiring about our room needs. He found us the perfect room and checked on us later in the evening.

My husband and I stayed for our anniversary and we loved it. Our room was very nice, staff was excellent, and the view was awesome. Really liked having our breakfast delivered to our door instead of walking down to get it. That was a nice touch. Would absolutely stay again.

There was no hot breakfast. There was a selection (5, I believe) of breakfast boxes of items. For example: my breakfast consisted of 2 hard boiled eggs, a piece of fruit, a container of orange juice, a small yogurt, and a bottle of water (acceptable). My husband got the sausage biscuit one morning, which he had to heat up in the microwave in our room. Yuck. And, the other day he got the oa**eal. Both those boxes came with a water, juice, and fruit. We much prefer a breakfast buffet. The bathroom is in desperate need of a good remodel AND a good cleaning in the shower. The bed was fine, but super squeaky and bouncy. Every time one of us rolled over it was like being on a water bed. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. There were plentiful towels. And the pool deck was well maintained.
