This truly is an exceptional guest house, and we have stayed in quite a few over the years. The building is a gem with high ceilings, a stately staircase and original features. The welcome from Ken and help we received from the moment we arrived set us up for the next 3 nights. He suggested a location for our first evenings dinner ( always a dilemma on arriving in a new place we find )and on taking up his recommendation , he booked it for us. It was a good choice too.. We had a comfortable downstairs room which looks to the rear, that had its own separate bathroom, but this was only a few steps away , was spacious and there were dressing gowns in the wardrobe ; A thoughtful touch. With no traffic noise . We slept well. The residents lounge has a lovely sea view, so we made good use of it each evening, watching the boats coming and goings and yes.. saw the porpoises. Breakfasts are superb.. lovely fresh fruit salads, yoghurts seeds etc. Not being Full scottish eaters we found The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs particularly delicious. Ken truly is a superb host who truly loves where he lives , who has created a relaxing, restful , luxurious oasis, that is worthy of an Alastair Sawday listing. We hope to return soon..
