Twin Pines Lodge & Cabins

We stayed in Cabin 23 at Twin Pines Lodge with our baby. It was exactly what we anticipated- a rustic cabin with full amenities, and great customer service. Well worth the money

We had to move up our reservation by a day at the very last minute. They answered their phones after hours and moved us up without any issues. Saved the day completely!

When I entered the office, a young lady opened the half door for the office and said, " Find your name." No greeting, no anything. So now I'm guessing. Find my name where? What's going on? Is this a new guessing game? I look around in the dim office light, half blind from driving 485 miles, to find pieces of paper with names on them with a room key. She also seemed put out to tell me where the room was. Rude. The room was fine. Renovated with tv, microwave, refrigerator, and tub/shower. It did not have air-conditioning. The room was not made up or serviced my entire 3 day stay. I was afraid to ask. Since no Wi-Fi password was offered at check-in, I called the number I had for the motel as there was no phone in the room. The gentleman who answered seemed put out to have to answer such a stupid question. Then he said sarcasticly, it was on the moose on the doorjamb. It was there on a silver dollar sized sticker. The print tiny, like I'm going to see it with my eye sight. Rude. When checking out, a key drop box, no people, no thank you. So in conclusion, if you like rude you are going to love this place.

Our room in the lodge was clean and the decor is rustic and charming. It was also a large room with a good sized mini fridge and a desk area. There is no air conditioning, and the tub/shower was showing its age, but it was clean. There is no breakfast, but they did have 2 varieties of coffee in the lounge area. The beds are very firm. We would be happy to stay there again.

The room selection is varied. There are rooms available in the small lodge itself, but most of the rooms are cabins around the main building. Some have a shared wall with another cabin, which is what I had, and some are single cabins with no shared walls. Price is reasonable. I paid less than $150 total. You can hear car doors outside and occasionally talking, but inside the room was quiet. Although I was aware that there was someone in the room next to me, but there were no loud noises or talking that I could hear, and having a quiet room is important to me. So no complaints. The room was exceptionally clean. There is no breakfast, like you would get at a hotel, but at the same time, you are paying less too. The bed was a little bouncy, but it was comfortable. Service was good. The town of Dubois was a pleasant walk exploring it.

Rustic but clean hewn log interior walls with complimentary decor. Friendly, helpful staff recommended Cowboy Cafe (within walking distance) for dinner and we would second that recommendation. Creaky floors above, so not soundproof, but part of the experience that is more personal, uniquely western, and comfortable than a traditional motel room. Room #13 in lodge had king bed and in-room jacuzzi, window facing front street, with inside lodge room entrance. Coffee in room or in lodge great room. Mini-fridge in room.
