The Chesterhouse

At first we were in a room at the back of the hotel. We had to open the window as it was hot, the noise from seagulls and extractor fan was very loud. We asked if we could be moved and the staff were brilliant, moving us to a sea view large room which was lovely. The manager and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely and the evening meals were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

When we stayed there the room was not cleaned at all. When we asked the manager she said I could not be done anymore for whatever reason, so we asked for some discount, she said we should talk to the website and that she could not to anything. Do not recommend this place at all.

Exceeded our expectations. Lovely staff, room was gorgeous nicely decorated and modern with everything you need. First floor with a sea view room would highly recommend. Breakfast was fantastic and location spot on. Would definitely return. 100% value for money.

We just left this hotel today after staying here for 3 nights and wish we didn't have to. The staff was super friendly (especially Joy at every breakfast time). The room was very spacious for a family of 4. The location of the hotel was perfect to explore the island. The hotel is only a short walk from the ferry port. At breakfast, there was plenty to choose from. The children loved it. They do have highchair for little ones.

The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. It’s a pity there are no blinds at the dining room windows as the sun is blinding at breakfast, but the food is plentiful and wholesome, if a bit basic. Our room was clean and comfortable but it was at the back of the hotel. This meant it was very noisy at night as Douglas is a party town and there are lots of nightclubs and pubs nearby. Th exterior of the hotel is very tired and needs decorating, although the interior has been refurbished. It is right o. The promenade so central for the town.

We have just returned from The Chesterhouse having spent the weekend whilst enjoying the Summer of Football Tournament. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance from the ferry terminal and located on Douglas seafront. The welcoming reception staff were welcoming and friendly and a credit to the hotel. We were in room 317 which is located on the side of the hotel so the view isn’t the best but we weren’t bothered about that. Thry have a lift which is small along with the narrow corridors. We noticed a fellow supporter who had a wheelchair struggling to manoeuvre through them. The hotel is situated next to Jaks bar which is a lively sports bar and has great atmosphere especially when the Chester supporters gathered 💙🦭. Breakfast was the traditional continental or cooked and we enjoyed it plenty of options available. Overall a lovely hotel and conveniently situated for visiting the Isle Of Man
