Campanile Arras - Saint Nicolas

Booked for 1 night ... first impressions were grim. Looked scruffy from the outside and was amongst an industrial site. Our room at the back on ground floor. Entering the room these are the negatives. Room had an awful odour, smelt damp and dirty. Carpet was in desperate need of a good shampoo and hoover. Cobwebs plentiful. Curtains filthy. Toilet hadn't been cleaned, stained with pee. Towels smelt awful. Work surface stained. Skirting boards near the hanging space, had dark brown stains in several places.Unsure what this was. Kettle was on a tray, good job, as when we used it..it leaked water. Alot of upstairs noisy activity til very late. The Positives. Shower tray reasonably clean. Bed linen looked clean. However, due to the state of the room, we pulled the bed out to check for bed bugs, thankfully didn't find anything. Left very early next morning, to get breakfast elsewhere and continue our journey. Couldn't face having food there. Management need to address the presentation and cleanliness of this place... and speak to the cleaners they employ. The cleaners need to up their standards. Definitely not worth the price we paid and will never use this place again.

Stayed here as a stop off before heading back to England. Room was clean and functional, secure car park and the proximity to the ferry was just what we were after. The guy on reception was as friendly as you can get, had some good conversations with him about his football team and likewise mine. He also took the time to recommend how we could get something to eat with it being a national holiday. Breakfast was spot on, plenty of choice and fresh.

We find this Campanile a very convenient place to stay overnight when travelling through France to and from the Channel tunnel. The reception staff are very helpful and welcoming and accommodate requests wherever possible. The rooms are accessible outside from the car park, which we find convenient. Breakfast was plentiful and very good.

We spent 2 nights here and it is a very dog-friendly hotel. The manager spoke good english and made us very welcome. We were on the first floor up a flight of stairs, but the room was very clean and comfortable. There was no air-conditioning, but the window opened with a secure fastening and the room was never too hot. There was a lovely garden area at the rear of reception where we enjoyed a refreshing 'bierre' on a warm afternoon. Housekeeping was faultless and our room was pristine when we returned after the first day out.

Extérieurs pitoyables. Des travaux sont-ils prévus? Matelas taché, salle de bains et toilettes sales. Bien placé, pas loin de la ligne de bus qui conduit au centre. Point positif : Propriétaires très aimables. Dommage pour tout le reste.

Réservé une nuit pour aller au marché de Noël, très déçus ! Chambre sale avec toiles d araignées, robinetterie de salle de bain remplies de calcaire, chasse d eau pas de pression, sèche cheveux qui ne fonctionnait pas, etc..... au restaurant j'ai demandé du filet mignon j ai eu de la rouelle (certifiant que c'était bien du filet mignon !) Bref plus jamais, le personnel accueillant heureusement il manquerait plus que ça.

Hotel bien pour le peu que l'on y reste,propre et confortable ...... Toutefois nous avons mangé au restaurant en famille pour éviter de se restaurer à l'extérieur et belle erreur.... Nous voulions le seul plat de viande : le pavé de bœuf....Pas de bol il y en avait plus un samedi soir pour 8 couverts.... Je me rabat sur le Burger végétal.....oups arrivé à table le pain cramé et du coup sec immangeable... Nous écourtons notre repas et à l'encaissement nous rencontrons le cuisinier qui s'excuse....mais nous donne comme explication qu'il y a un manque de personnel que la situation devait arriver.... Sauf que l'on était que 8 couverts ce n'est donc pas un manque de personnel mais bien de l'incompétence .... Nous profitons de lui rappeler que l'on voulait le pavé de bœuf...et nous répond qu'il n'allait pas courrir après un bœuf pour nous servir.... Un restaurant qui périclite.

Chambre avec manque de propreté (toiles d'araignées, traces sur les éléments de salle de bain, chasse d'eau qui ne fonctionne pas avec une douche en mauvaise état ainsi que du calcaire...) Chambre très bruyante... Très déçu et établissement pas entretenu. Point positif : Personnel agréable, disponible et souriant (merci à eux).
